Surprised how beautiful the beach was as not expecting any. Found the amount of trash on the beach challenging. Not good for tourism I imagine. I was tempted to initiate a cleanup and public education campaign but didn't have the time nor my business. Wonderful friendly town with a lot of potential - some local leadership To organize for a more appealing coast line could be good for the economy .
Dangriga is a right mixture of culture history and a sense of community vibes The beach is walking distance the people are friendly and share culture Fish can be bought and prepped for you on the spot Late night bars that have food and good music
There really isn't anything to do in Dangriga. The town is very dirty and run down. "Cultural center of Belize" that you don't need to see. Only 1 grocery was open the day we arrived, we are not sure whether that was because it was a Sunday or it was raining. Local People were really nice. $6 BZE taxi from bus terminal to Chaleanor Hotel. $5 BZE taxi from water terminal to bus station. Grocery sales people are rude in both groceries I went to
Great for an authentic Garifuna Belize experience. People were friendly and helpful. In Center of coast so makes most activities possible in a day trip. But Dangriga can be fully experienced in a day or two.
I love the culture and the people of Dangriga. What I learned is they dont have a pretty beach area in Dangriga and you would have to get a ride to a waterfall. Thats not bad but you should see all the beaches first then have your last stop at Dangriga for a couple days to enjoy the culture on the land.
Like the simple life and not to commercial, I was born in Stann Creek now know as Dangriga was glad to see it only change for the best like more cars, stores hotel, indoor pluming and electricity. love going to the beach
Billy Hawke Caye is an island off the coast of Hopkins, Belize, so one must arrange boat transportation through Billy Hawke or locally at Dangriga or Hopkins. It is a friendly locally-owned family-run establishment. We had an wonderful four-day stay and enjoyed the excellent meals. Very friendly and helpful hosts in a relaxing tropical island setting.
Everything about this place is amazing. The staff, the island, the rooms, the food... one of the best vacations ever!
Best bed on the Island after 9 days of traveling all over Belize, the workers were so amazingly friendly.
Fine place if you need a night over in Dangriga.
The cabanas were spacious and clean, the outdoor shower was neat. The screened in porch was a great help in keeping out unwanted bugs and critters. Also they had done a good job sealing the cabana. Having our own little stretch of beach was great too. Very non- touristy, authentic Garifuna Belize location.
