Hotel in Hopkins
Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace, Parrot Cove Lodge is centrally located in the Caribbean coastline in Hopkins Belize between the reef and the rainforest. We stayed for three nights in one of the standard pool facing rooms. We found the hotel to be absolutely charming. The quality of the food in the restaurant was excellent (we ate there twice) and good value. But it’s the people that really sets this place apart. Everyone from the owners down epitomise excellence customer service and elevated our experience massively. The hotel is also very well situated on and attractive part of the beach, within a few moments walk of several other bars and restaurants. There was a some construction work going on while we were there but everyone was so considerate it really didn’t bother us at all. Highly recommend.

Crash Pad Adventure Hostel is located in Hopkins, a few steps from Hopkins Beach. There's a terrace and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking. The crash pad was just that, a perfect place to crash for the night (or two). I loved the use of space and left with ideas for my own tiny home. The rooftop deck was my favorite and the owner was so thoughtful with putting a mini fridge, coffee maker and fresh water up there. Not to mention books and games. The coffee shop around the corner was amazing with the best gluten free waffles. The host that you are in contact with is wonderful. He is a true artist and I think designed all the cool finishing touches. It is small and the top loft was hot. Clearly the size was a plus for my family. The heat can’t be helped and there are fans. I don’t mind a little sweat. Actually when we came back for another stay a few days later, the temp was much more comfortable. Again, it’s not a complaint at all but if you want AC, depending on when you visit, you may look elsewhere. In my opinion it would be a shame to miss out on this gem for any reason. My family of 3 can’t wait to stay at Crash Pad again.

The helpful and friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. We always looked forward to the fresh catch of the day for dinner, especially the lobster Thermidor. My wife and I liked the closeness to the beach and pool and the size of the complex which was only 19 three unit buildings, and the ratio or staff to guests. We went on two excursions, one to the Mayan ruins and one horseback riding in the rain forest. Both were well worth the trip.
Too expensive with very little to offer. This is good for people who plan to just chill and not do much. Go south (closer to the Jaguar Reef area) for better waters and restaurants, but be prepared to spend lots
Our stay was perfect. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Took the kayaks into the lagoon area to view the wildlife in the mangroves, it was very peaceful. It also offered a beautiful view of the mountains behind the oceanfront resort. Getting around is easy. We had a car, but it is not necessary. We were able to walk the entire beach, about 2 miles in one direction, but would recommend water shoes for the corse sand. Took the "dirt" road along the Sittee River back to highway for different scenery and didn't regret doing so. Locals were all very friendly and talkative. Be patient when eating out, things take longer. We also visited on our own the Mayan King Waterfall. We were able to drive all the way up. Don't stop at the first and second small falls...keep going up until you see the largest of the falls. I would suggest a picnic lunch at the falls.
We enjoyed getting to know the local vibe by frequenting some of the restaurants recommended by our tour provider, Julians Transports. They recommended Ella's and Driftwood as places to eat and catch the local vibe. We went to Driftwoods for pizza and drumming on Saturday night, both were excellent and very fun! We went to Ellas for lunch the next day and it was ok food and some fun local drumming as well. They recommended Nice Cream but we never got to go but it looked nice.
Here is a tip on discovering local culture. The Hopkins Village Library was started some years ago by a woman U.S. Peace Corps volunteer and continues to thrive as a valuable community resource. Drop-in and say "Hello" and look at their collection and if you wish, donate a few books or "bucks" to a very worthy cause...
Hopkins is a very friendly village, people friendly. Food was great. Driftwood bar n gtill restaurant is a must place to eat as well as coconut row. Would stay there again, just at a different hotel.
We had a private queen bed room and it was well laid out and the bed really good. A rather unique bathroom with a huge shower. We never used the shared kitchen but it looked clean and okay. Security made coffee extra early on request for our 6 am catching of a bus to Placencia. The hostel rooms looked okay and I would stay there if I was alone. The cat is pretty friendly. Location is right in the middle of the small town so lots of places to eat close by. The beach is about a 3 minute walk away.
amazing location, comfy room, great cocktails and the hot tub was impressive (and always empty in the evening). very close to our chosen scuba club, and also a short bike ride in the village. would definitely recommend staying here.. and in hopkins. Big Dock is a must, so is their chevice.

Nicely maintained guesthouse with friendly staff! The location is good. It is across from Play Bar and next to a good Filipino restaurant (Bahay Fiesta). My room was spacious and clean. I would stay again and I recommend it when visiting Hopkins / Sittee River.

Close to Hopkins, but quieter area of town. Owners were very nice and always available for questions! On the main road, but the little garden is very relaxing and lots of birds to observe. Great value, we would stay again!

The town is cute, the beach is great, and the Inn turned out to be the best lodging we had in our Belize travels – a surprising high note to end our trip on. Angel is the property manager and knows everything in town.
Flawless grounds , flawless staff , communal dinner was great to get to meet other guests , catered to special events really well - cannot fault ! very clean large room in overwater bungalow
Property was a direct walk out to the sea with shallow waters. Villas were very nice with full kitchen. Free shuttle to and from Hopkins. Happy hour 4-6 for $1 off drinks.
