Providing free WiFi, Pine Ridge Lodge is located in San Ignacio, within 11 miles of Barton Creek Cave. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Neil, his family and the staff made us feel at home. The food served was fresh and tasty with a diverse menu, excellent coffee in the morning and great service. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. No sounds at night but the jungle/ forest with a sky full of stars. The staff arranged trips for us to the ruins, swimming holes and area caves in the pine ridge preserve at reasonable cost. The wi fi in the main dining area is strong. We felt like we were treated as family and the lodge and grounds are very relaxing with a nearby creek a u can hear at night. It’s a bumpy dirt road more or less from St Ignacio to get there with many outings nearby from the lodge. I would definitely return!!
Nestled in the Belize jungle, Mariposa Jungle Lodge offers six comfortable cabanas, a nature trail and an outdoor pool with a slate waterfall. The customer service was exceptional. The room was perfect for our family.
Located in San Ignacio, 1.1 miles from Cahal Pech, Maya Bella Downtown Hotel has a terrace, a shared lounge and rooms with free WiFi access. Great location, friendly staff, and clean, quiet rooms. This was a convenient "home base" for our excursions in Belize.
Located within 1.2 miles of Cahal Pech and 15 miles of Barton Creek Cave, Tropicool Hotel in San Ignacio has a garden and rooms with free WiFi. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The place is very clean and right in the center of the pedestrian street, next to everything. The best ATM cave tours are right in the same building - Pacz Tours. Right behind the property you can catch a collective taxi to the border for 5 $B

San Ignacio is not much but is a good starting point for wonderful tours. We went to Caracol with Green Belize Adventures which I definitely recommend; the chauffeur/guide (Hugo) was very nice and knowledgeable. Caracol itself is a must. Not enough time to take other tours, unfortunately.
San Ignacio is a cute small town, really close to a lot of Mayan sites and extremely easy to book tours or find transportation to those sites. Also very easy to walk around the town, street market on the weekends with fresh fruits & veg, some local wares, Macal river is beautiful to paddle down - wild spider monkey's sometimes hang out in the trees close to the shore at one part of the river. Pop's Diner is the best breakfast place in town.
Every thing was perfect with a laidback atmosphere, excellent food (lots of fresh fruit) beautiful surroundings, and on a beautiful green river. Chena, the owner, is a joy to be around, and makes folks feel like a friend.
There is a lot to do in the area and we could have stayed longer. We will be back to do the things that we missed, but we were happy with the time we spent in San Ignacio and our choice of activities.
great little city with several things to do and explore. it's a good place to station yourself for travel in western belize or to get to tikal. get downtown to eat. lots of little restaurants to try and everything is homemade. you can easily walk most of the city. there are easy to book tours to everything. make sure to check out the Iguana project even if you don't have kids. ATM cave is the experience of a lifetime. but it's not easy. you will be wet the entire time: 7 - 8 hours! you'll be walking in water most of the time, often waist high. our little ones (10 & 12 year old girls) wore life jackets, even though they can swim, and I was grateful they did because the water was much deeper for them. don't bother with a swimsuit because you'll need shorts to scoot around on your butt in the cave sometimes. lots of swimming and climbing, and clambering. you'll get a little cold when you're standing still listening to the guide explain things, so be aware of that. but I'm always cold and I managed. your socks will be wet the entire time too. you won't be dry until after you swim across the last stream and get a towel at the car. *get to tikal if you came that far! and if you can stay overnight in guatamala do it! the jungle lodge is within the park and has a great restaurant (and good coffee). there are a few smaller stands around worth eating at for a lot less money if you have the cash. no american money here though, so exchange at the border. the hotel is beautiful and very modern. monkeys in the trees everywhere. lots of animals in the jungle as you walk. if you read up you won't need a guide, it's up to you. I feel like we saw more without one. it's amazing.
The beauty and historical elements of the area make it a worthwhile place to visit. The town itself isn’t all so amazing architecturally nor culturally, but the Mayan sites closeby make it worthy. ATM is amazing, Xunantunich magical and the people are friendly!

This a simple hotel with all you would need. Comfy beds, clean rooms, good and quiet AC and hot showers with decent Wi-Fi. Best was the staff! Cesar, and the guy on night staff (*apologies I forget his name) were incredibly helpful and had lots of great infomation and tips! They helped us with booking trips to the Pine Ridge (*highly reccomend and great value) visiting any pf the local ruins and also great experiences like Mayan Chocolate experience, Rum and Hot Sauce tasting, good cafes and food places too!

This place is perfect for the budget backpacker. It is a lovely family run guesthouse that provides you with advice on how to get around San Ignacio like a local. It has great amenities (extensive kitchen, filtered drinking water, seating area) and is very clean - we stayed in a private room for two nights with no A/C but there were two fans. Such great value for money!

The property is in the heart of San Ignacio, and everything is a short walk. The property has a wonderful rooftop that you can hang out on, which was perfect for watching the sunset. In addition, the lobby of the hotel does a hot sauce tasting for $5, and a rum tasting for $20, so you have built in activities while you’re there.

It was the best accommodation we've had! Super clean, big and comfortable rooms, big bathroom, automatic AC, strong wifi and even a kitchen with free Coffee, tea and water. The staff was great and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay so much. We think it is the best guest house in town for a very fair price. Thanks guys.

Vanilla Hills was one of the highlights of our trip to Belize. As soon as Franklin started walking us out to the Coconut treehouse, we knew we were in for something special. The outdoor shower was pretty refreshing. Make sure you eat at the lodge — both our breakfast and dinner were some of the best meals of our trip.

The resort is well located in San Ignacio just a five-minute walk from the Town Center. The staff were very friendly and they took real good care of me as a Solo Traveler. I felt so safe and welcomed. The restaurant was pretty amazing as well. I highly recommend the San Ignacio Resort!

Lettie and Raul and the best! So accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food was some of the best we've had and by far the best in all of Belize. Definitely let them feed you, you won't regret it!!!!!

Gorgeous ranch & stress-free vibes. Azucena the (owner/hostess) was one of the best chefs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting & one of the most wonderful person I have ever met. I would LOVE to come back here again!

Excellent location, friendly owners, a great base to explore the surrounds and even enter Tikal, Guatemala overnight. Curtis the pie guy rides past in the Main Street selling the best lemon, coconut or meat pies in all of Belize!!

Just the best hosts right in a remote and relaxing area. Tom and Marge fulfilled every need and cooked the most delicious food (even gluten free or vegan or whatever food was available)! This is a truly special place!

Hotel staff was great. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade to a suite. Room was big and had the most amazing view from the balcony. Bar and restaurant were great as well. Cheers to Oscar (best bartender ever).

The cleanliness was better than some 4/5 star hotels. The owner & his family are very personable & welcoming, again better than some 4/5 star hotels. Will definitely stay again when in San Ignacio.

Right in the city center, great transparency about tour operators. The room is furnitured with minimum effort. It was clean. Given the high room rates in and around San Ignacio, the price is ok.

The people who owned/managed the hotel were very nice. Air conditioning is great. Up the road is Trins bar - Happy Hour 4-7pm with cheap food and cold beer. Great location.

We loved all the little extra's. For example, the staff would turn down the room at night and leave a treat for you in the room. The fruit is all grown on property and when you arrive there is fresh fruit in the room with chocolate dipping sauce.
