Seine Boat Inn offers accommodations in Alert Bay, on Cormorant Island. A scenic ferry ride takes guests to the property. Rooms include a flat-screen TV. We had an apartment with sea-view and it was meant to be the high-point of our 3 week Vancouver Island trip. This place did not disappoint at any level. The room was amazing, equipped with everything we needed and this stunning sea-view. The communication and welcome from TerryLynn was wonderful and we enjoyed this little piece of paradise. Also the island itself is a hidden treasure if you don`t look for posh places. There are walks, there is wildlife and friendly people everywhere. We hope to come back one day.
Nimpkish Hotel provides beachfront accommodations in Alert Bay. Featuring luggage storage space, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Breakfast was good. We especially liked the helpfulness of the owners. For example, when they found we had to leave early one of them gut up early to make breakfast, AND prepared an excellent and generous picnic lunch for our car journey to Victoria on the mainland of the island. Exceptional hotel and island.
Located on Cormorant Island, this Alert Bay property offers barbecue facilities. A kitchen and free Wi-Fi are provided in each unit. Alert Bay ferry terminal is 5 minutes’ drive away. I have done a mistake on my reservation and didn't come at the right date. The hotel was very kind and gave me back the money. I will be there i later on thank you very much

The location was beautiful, the value was incredible we couldn’t believe it! Gorgeous views, lots of green space for kids to play, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Wonderful staff as well!
Beach House Bed & Breakfast is located in Port McNeill and has a garden and a private beach area. There's a grill and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking. The breakfast was incredible and the owners so nice and welcoming. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Port McNeil.
Very quiet place. The only real must-see is the Umista Cultural which is worth a visit. I liked the general ethos of the place. This is a good place to spend a day or two if you just want to relax. Be aware that dining options are very limited - only two restaurants were open during the time that I was there.
If you have no difficulties with mobility, save a few bucks and walk on the ferry and leave your car in Port McNiell. There are a few steep roads and staircases, but everything is really easy to access by foot or bike. It is a really friendly place; EVERY person you pass on the street or trail will wave to you or say hello. There is a metric tonne of art and culture that would be beautiful in rain or sunshine. The U'mista Cultural Center is a marvelous museum and don't forget to see the Worlds Largest Totem Pole! At any given point look up and you are guaranteed to see at least one bald eagle. Be prepared and bring your own food - There is a good grocery store on the island, but the few restaurants keep odd hours and may not be open when you are ready to eat.
The First Nations experiences were worth every penny. From witnessing the dancing at the Big House, the totems, the burial grounds and the Umista museum, it was the most unique and cherished part of our trip. Alert Bay is a must on any BC trip.
We kayaked off Alert Bay with 3 Minke Whales and over a dozen bald eagles flying overhead, it was amazing. We absolutely loved this quaint little island and the locals! So friendly (everyone waved at us wherever we went) We want to come back for a longer stay! If you want relaxation and beautiful scenery, this is the place to go.
We enjoyed learning to weave with cedar at the museum, the narrated bus tour of the community and the dances at the LongHouse. The wooden boardwalk was great for walking. The bannock was delicious. We were impressed with the local First Nation residents who are working very hard to preserve their heritage.
A small quiet town on a small island tht can be explored in a day or two. Trails could be better maintained. We got a little nervous walking through the forest, though it was not extensive. Lots of eagles and some herons.

The hotel worked great for us. Even though the outside looks run down and a little tired looking, the inside has been renovated and looks fresh and clean. Our room was great, it was clean with lots of space., and the beds were comfy. It is great value for your money. The staff/owners were very accommodating and made sure that we had all that we needed. We ate downstairs in their restaurant, and the food was good. I highly recommend The Bayside Inn for value and cleanliness.

We truly loved Everything- the views, the manager, the room was spotless and beautifully restored, the peace and quiet of the lapping waves and seagulls, the fog and the sunshine, the two patios we could enjoy on either side of our room, and the amazing flowers the hotel is adorned with. An absolute treat to visit and so welcoming of our 14 yr old dog!

This is a great place to stay in charming Alert Bay. Larry, the owner, is super friendly and contributes very positively to the local community. The Orca Inn is in a really good location - walking distance from the ferry and the highlights of Alert Bay. Larry even offers breakfast!

The hotel is on the main street very close to the village centre. It has a lovely view of the bay and we enjoyed taking pictures of a brilliant sunset. The breakfast was continental, fresh pasties, bagels and bread for toasting. There were also fresh peaches and cherries.
