Featuring a fine dining restaurant onsite, this elegant inn is styled in timeless antiques and nestled on 8 manicured acres. Historical property that deserves all the attention it can get. Even if you don’t stay here, one visit and you will wish you had!
Located in Dorchester, 7 miles from Sackville, Maplehurst Manor Bed and Breakfast provides a terrace and free WiFi. There's a seating and/or dining area in some units. Mariska and Jeff have created a beautiful, comfortable and perfect spot. They have renovated a huge Victorian in the style true to its period, but with every amenity any traveler could ask for. We would recommend this B&B to anyone, even if you have to go a few miles out of your way to enjoy their extraordinary hospitality.
Offering a terrace and a private beach area, Amherst Shore Country Inn is located on the Northumberland Strait in Lorneville, Nova Scotia. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Spacious and private accommodation in a beautiful garden setting with views to the sea. Breakfast was superb.
Amherst is a very interesting and historical town with several sites of interest (ie museums). The Armoury is a must see!!The stone buildings are beautiful. Enjoyed the shopping experience in the downtown core. People are very friendly. It's easy to get around.
I have friends who live in Amherst, and lived there for a short time many years ago. Amherst does not have a lot for tourists. We were there for a reunion at the Baptist Church. I forgot how beautiful it was Amherst is close to Springhill, which does not have a hotel. If anyone likes Anne Murray they would love her museum, and a Tour of the Mine is well worth the visit.
I just wanted a plazce to stay for the night, have some dinner and sleep. I went a few blocks away to eat, however, you can order food from their dining room which was closed for renovations but we did have a good breakfast.
Went for the nearby Joggins Fossil Museum. That was excellent. Scenic drives were beautiful but not for a timid driver. We didn;t find any particularly good restaurants. The best food was from a caterer that Trip Advisor wrongly said was also a restaurant. But they fed us anyway. The people in general are very friendly and accomadating.
The parking is excellent in this town with lots of places to eat. Love the sandstone buildings. We were there for the Fabric Arts Event and it looked like the whole town was involved. Excellent event and experience.
Was only passing through on way to PIE. Amherst appeared to me to look like it was becoming a little run down but to be fair, only really drove around a little. Asked what there was to do but told nothing apart from a museum and some old buildings in town. Was glad to only be staying the one night!!
The staff at this hotel were amazing and the rooms were very clean. The morning breakfast, even with the covid restrictions, was well prepared with various food options.
It cost more than most of our hotels did during our trip but they had power after hurricane Dorian and where I was staying didn't.
The breakfast is one of the best complimentary i have had at a hotel, the location of the hotel is great
