Easy and flexible check in,the staff were very friendly and efficient.The room was modern, very well kept.Very comfortable beds.Nice and clean bathroom.We felt very comfortable.Despite of being in the airport and being such light sleepers, we didn’t hear any noise.We ate in the restaurant in the evening, small menu but very delicious fish and chips and reasonably priced.We will go back again without hesitation.

Western Culture East of the Rockies

Set on plains dominated by the Rockies, Calgary shot to international fame as first Canadian host of the Winter Olympics. The Olympic Park is still used for skiing and summer events, and also houses Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

Speed skating and ice hockey matches thrill crowds in the Olympic Oval, whereas NHL games kick off at the Saddledome, an arena on the Calgary Stampede grounds, site of a huge 10-day rodeo and Western festival. The neighbouring river meets the Bow River by Fort Calgary, a former Mountie outpost. The zoo is on one of the river’s islands, while Prince’s Island Park overlooks the downtown skyscrapers.

Calgary Tower offers far-reaching views, and Stephen Avenue at its feet is lined with restaurants and bars. 17 Avenue also offers good nightlife, while the Chinook Centre and Barclay Parade have a host of stores. The Core shopping centre includes Devonian Gardens, reportedly the world’s largest indoor gardens.

Other attractions include Telus Spark science centre, the eclectic Glenbow Museum and Heritage Park, where a paddle steamer and steam train transport you to Calgary of yesteryear.

Calgary Airport is near the city centre, and Booking.com offers luxury hotels with airport shuttles, cheap motels, and B&Bs with parking. If you’re lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights from your accommodation.

Large spread out city you need at least a week to try differnt things throught the city food/drink and entertaiment. Very easy city to navigate by car driving. Big change in temps in a short time be very warm and by end of the day be very cold climate very sunny and breezy.

No comments, since we were only overnighting. But from prior experiences, the city is nice, clean, modern, but way too spread out to be able to get much of anywhere outside your neighborhood by public transit. I don't think of it as a tourist town, I think of it as a business town.

Calgary is often our hub for travel. We travel West Jet. This time we decided to stay and spent Christmas there. We were amazed by the city life, the wonderful restaurants and the convenience of all the amenities in Bridgeland Calgary is very easy to get around by vehicle, and has lots of parking. I feel very safe staying and touring in Calgary.

Pretty much everything closed down for the winter.

Pretty much everything closed down for the winter. No city tours, some museums closed for renovations during the winter. People so nice. We lost our way and went into the HYATT HOTEL to ask directions. One of the front desk staff were so very helpful setting us on our way. Same with another hotel, where the front staff person walked us out to the street to show us the right way. View from CN Tower very nice. A quiet time in town, but it was fine. WE stayed in China Town, which I always love visit in cities. Restaurants there very good

I used to live in Calgary for many years, visiting gives me a sweet sense of nostalgia and an appreciation of how much the city has grown and developed since then. The one thing I tend to forget after it has passed is how frigid cold it can be and it’s effect on my skin. That being said, the city does a really good job of clearing the major roads and bus route to ensure a better road experience than most other Canadian city i have visited or lived at.

One and a half hours to the Banff and the Majestic Rocky Mountains , great food and finest restaurants , 4 seasons' of adventure and entertainment , beautiful parks , close to water activities in the Bow River and Chestermere lake , Government sponsored camp grounds all within a short drive . Clean and Best city in the world to visit as it home to Multi Cultures .

The room was very good but the personnel was EXCEPTIONAL. It was a very nice stay, very clean room located ideally in the city center. The breakfast was very good. I want to highlight the personnel, which was absolutely amazing with us. Our flight was leaving on the evening, and even though we had already checked out they stored our luggage and let us use their facilities before leaving for the airport. It was really really nice stay, I would recommend this hotel to everyone going to Calgary.
