The continental breakfast was amazing, and the lady host was very friendly and accommodating. Lots of variety to choose from. A plus was that it had its own dining room and server I stead of a setup in a lobby. I also loved the pool and hot tub!

Loved the waterfront walk and park!

Loved the waterfront walk and park! There were lots if people enjoying it and the vibe was relaxed. The kids park was great! We ate at Cactus Club. I loved the ambiance! It was easy to get around Nanaimo. Make sure to go to Newcastle Island. Give yourself at least 2 hours to walk around the island. There are also shorter options. The short ferry ride was great and priced very reasonably.

Wonderful parks, including two with places to swim. Excellent university for summer accommodations and for walking on campus, including four parks, one with koi fish. It has many interesting stores, a great night market and fabulous views of the ocean and mountains.

Loved Neck Point Park and Pipers Lagoon, some people even had whale sightings! Nori sushi is really good, and the Nanaimo Bars are sumptuous! Cathedral Grove is an amazing wonder of nature, and we really enjoyed visiting nearby towns like Coombs and Qualicum Beach.

Lots of restaurants and good location to access the rest of the island. Good location for service from BC Ferries. Enjoyed meals at The Breakfast Nook, Smitty's, Flamez, and Chinese takeout from Yangs as our meal for 4 provided us 2 more meals in leftovers! It is true that the best Nanaimo Bars are from Red's Bakery. Extremely good!

Why did I wait so long to discover Nanaimo!?!

Why did I wait so long to discover Nanaimo!?! I was so wrong in my misconceptions about Nanaimo. What an amazing place! There is so much to do in or around Nanaimo it has become me defacto home base when touring southern Vancouver Island. If it's not in Nanaimo, it's probably a short drive from there. Even Victoria is only 90 minutes away and hotels in Nanaimo are almost half the price.

Lovely coffee shops and seaside park.

Lovely coffee shops and seaside park. But using a car and disabled it was difficult to find car route to seaside. We found 2 hour free parking available near The Vault restaurant and cafe with its excellent food and fun atmosphere. The map on my phone helped a lot. Asteras Greek restaurant has fabulous food and great service. You can access a side door rather than using stairway. It is popular so be sure to reserve.

A great place to stay in Nanaimo. Very close to everything - restaurants, the Port Theatre, the harbor, and a little gem of a military museum museums. Although we did not bring a pet, it's very pet friendly with a "pet of the day" sign at the registration desk. The staff was very friendly and most were Ontario transplants.
