Had a lovely homey feel to it, appreciated the additional shared kitchen facilities ( microwave, kettle, fridge and crockery) . Had some lovely extras included. Also very handy to town only one street back from Baker st.

The room was nicely decorated, just slightly small. There is a microwave in the common area and a big thank you to the staff for helping us find 2 bowls that could be used for heating. There is also a hot tub on the roof and a sauna in the building that requires a reservation

Everything was exceptional. There was everything in the kitchen that you could possibly need. Diane left us a little bit of cream in the fridge for our first morning tea and coffee which was a lovely touch <3 The bed was soooo comfortable! I would live in this studio if i could! Seriously A+++. We will be back as soon as we can! Thank you so very much!

Love this place , the vibe you get is amazing.

Love this place , the vibe you get is amazing. The people you meet are down to earth and genuine. The food and drink, quenching and delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the outdoor cafe's...... Sadie our server at the Full Circle Cafe was a Delight....such a pleasure to have as a hostess / server.....

We liked the historical aspect.

We liked the historical aspect. However, we thought the " organic" was being taken a little to seriously. We're all in favors of choices, and didn't like having this view pushed so hard on us almost every where we went in town.

Nelson has great character.

Nelson has great character. Beautiful buildings, excellent restaurants and an amazing setting on. kootenay Lake. The only issue we had was parking was difficult to find but then, it was Valentine’s Day so maybe it’s not always so bad.

Nelson has many well preserved buildings from the mid 1800s

Nelson has many well preserved buildings from the mid 1800s It is beautifully situated and the setting is picturesque. However the town is not pretty with too many ugly buildings of an industrial nature near the shoreline.

Stunning little city with independent shops and eateries all within a couple of blocks. The river walk to the park and beach was lovely. Even the scenery from the car journey to get to Nelson was fabulous!

Former backpackers frequenting hostels turned late 30s parents fancying confort (and becoming very picky) for their couple's getaways. It was our first time at The Oak Hotel. Upon booking, we were doubtful looking at the awesome pictures vs the more than reasonable price. It just happens that this place is great. No other words to say it. The room was modern, very efficiently furnished, and quiet. The Oak Hotel is also located on Nelson's main street so you are walking distance from everything.

Staff were excellent. Ended up staying for two nights instead of one. First night we stayed on suite with kitchenette and second in room with jacuzzi. Both rooms were nicely decorated, clean and beds were super comfy. Hotel was 10 minute walk to downtown and 1 minute drive. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit nelson.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Right on the water, right down the street from downtown, and you can have a good walk down the water to the park area. The restaurant is excellent, and beautiful to sit outside on the deck for dinner. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Room is spacious with a big bathroom.
