Wish I had used the patio and BBQ area. Would definitely stay again. Brian generously offered his park pass for the Sandbanks, which saved us $20 on parking
Such a cute town with many boutiques and restaurants! Houses are beautiful to look at, walk around and take photos! Cute park nearby to picnic or sit and watch boats! Town is near by foot or car. Would go back! Great restaurants like the Spanish one and yummy ice cream at Slickers!
Quite a bit busier than I expected. Surprisingly good restaurants for such a small place. Scenic with short drives to wineries and breweries. Huff and Sandbanks wineries were very nice. Prince Eddie brewery is a fun spot, and great beer
Stayed in Picton for 2 nights, Had coffee, crepes and dinner in town, all very good. Prince Edward County has Winery, Brewery, Cider and Spirts. My wife took about 2 or 3 hours planning our 2 days of visiting, KINSIP Spirts are a must visit, book ahead for a taster. Country Cider, fantastic with good Pizza. Parson's Brewery is also highly recommended as a check out place. To eat, look for "Bermuda" in Bloomfield, All I can saw is Wow, great tasty food.
Picton is the largest town in Prince Edward County, and there is an excellent selections of restaurants, shops, etc. It's close to Sandbanks Provincial Park, local wineries and cider houses. We've visited a few times, and really enjoy it.
A very attractive town, but right now most of the roads through and around the town are under construction, or being repaired. Or so it seemed. Every road we tried to travel had road works of some type on them. Not good for visiting, but as the good weather is the only time to do it, it is what it is. The shopping, as a tourist, is good. The surrounding area is scenic and has many wineries, and farmer's markets, to browse. We didn't visit beaches as it rained for the 3 days we were there.
Lots of interesting shops and good places to eat. Beautiful old houses on the side streets. Picton Bay is lovely and the Lighthouse Restaurant has great breakfasts with a patio right on the wharf. Slickers Ice Cream (made in small batches with local ingredients) is a MUST! A great little town with lots to do and see!
The area, and specially the cottage that we booked: Mickey Bigfish, has a great view to the lake. It is an excellent choice to spend a fantastic weekend with friends, I will definitelly recommend it if you want to travel with your pet. The satff is very friendly, familiar and kind, always willing to help with any request or question we had. It is very close to the town, stores, other points of interest and Sandbanks in particular. We spent a great weekend and will definitelly go back.
Our suite was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and it is dedicated parking. The location was perfect 5 minute walk from all the great restaurants in Picton and a short drive from other attractions in Prince Edward County. Also it’s in a tree lined neighborhood of other beautiful historic homes. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything thing you need to make a meal or just a cup of tea.
Everything was perfect. Location is hard to beat. The house is superb, there's everything you need. Very close to the grocery store and many great restaurants. Parking spot. A short 20 min ride from Sandbanks. Free pass to Sandbanks is given by Susan the hostess. She was great, very helpful and answered my many questions from the beggining. I would love to go back there next year!
We had a nice stay at the June. With Covid, not all amenities were available but we still enjoyed ourselves. I do think it’s a bit overpriced compared to other properties in the area. The county is a great place to visit and I would return to the June for a special occasion.
Everything was very well organised and taken care of. Our room and the washroom were clean, everything worked. The location was great - it is very convenient to stay in Picton. The owners managed the COVID situation very well.
Wish I had used the patio and BBQ area. Would definitely stay again. Brian generously offered his park pass for the Sandbanks, which saved us $20 on parking
