This is a family owned motel that is in a perfect location to experience the Cabot Trail. The rooms were roomy and very clean. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating! I loved it and would definitely stay here again.

Great overnight stop midway on the Cabot Trail, convenient restaurant on the property, good fresh food, had supper and breakfast before heading out. Recommend making reservations, they were full on a Thursday night. Large comfy room to relax in. No fridge, good wifi.

Convenient location and quiet setting.
Convenient location and quiet setting. Good restaurant on site. Tidy room with plenty of fluffy towels. Disappointed by the condition of the room: holes in screens (had to keep windows closed or the mosquitoes would get in), extremely noisy air conditioner unit, noisy water pipes from the adjoining unit, a bathroom door that didn't close due to uneven floor.

If you want somewhere quiet to stay along the cabot trail...
If you want somewhere quiet to stay along the cabot trail then pleasant bay should appeal to you. There is a total of two restaurants in the area and they both serve mostly seafood menus. We chose to eat at the Rusty Anchor and it was below-average food for vegetarians. I can't speak to the quality of the seafood but it was a pretty busy place. There is a small convenience store which was operated by people who seemed to not want to be there and a small coffee hut which was closed. The nearby beach was very pretty and of course driving to and from here is a beauty. After the sun went down we were pretty bored though and just hung out in our motel room.

The place is amazing!
The place is amazing!! As hosts, they are top notch! Very welcoming and kind. The house is very clean and we were luck to get the base,net room which hat a tub jacuzzi, private bathroom and great bed. There is a pool and hot tub outside which was amazing after a day of hiking. There are a couple of restaurants just down the road with incredible views of the sunset. Breakfast consisted of yogurt, fresh bread, eggs and more. Wonderful experience and I would highly recommend staying at this peaceful place.

Beautiful scenic coastal drives, we made this a base for trip to Meat Cove, which was really enjoyable. We also travelled to the Buddhist monastary, Gampo Abbey, at the end of the Red River Road. A very pleasant visit.
