Windsor is a small serene city with a lot the city has to offer. When you look over the Detroit River from Windsor you see Detroit city. That is more than fascinating enough. Also the new Gordie Howe International Bridge that links Windsor to Detroit and vice versa. Also the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is also a fascinating tunnel to drive through to have the experience first hand.

The riverside is the highlight if this city. The promenade is so relaxing and being by the river is always entertaining, with the boat action and the wayer views from the hotel. Friendly place and exciting to see the new bridge.

The view, which is what we came for, was excellent to see...

The view, which is what we came for, was excellent to see the fireworks show. The hotel is old, and as such lacks certain amenities one expects now, such as a place to plug in a phone for charging. The tub was starting to peel and in the first room they gave us, one of the windows they gave us was blocked out. My point is that we still paid a premium price for our stay, which we’ll reconsider next time we’re in town.

Windsor wasn't exactly a cultural experience, although it did seem to have a diverse population, which was nice to see. We didn't find any hip shopping districts or cool "strips." The view of the river and the Detroit skyline was very cool, and many people were utilizing the riverwalk in the evening after dark. There were plenty of identifiable security personnel who made even the less-lit areas of the park feel relatively safe.

Point PELEE was great.

Point PELEE was great. Not enough time to also take the ferry out of Leamington to Pelee Islands. Nor enough time to find the big tomato in Leamington, tomato capital. The bridges to U.S.A. were great. Should have brought my passport to go across and back. Assumption Catholic Church under the Ambassador Bridge near the University of Windsor was on our itinerary and we did not miss it Easter Sunday.

The hotel is situated on Windsor water front and within walking distance of the city centre. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms met expectations. The hotel restaurant and bar are situated together on the 2nd floor and are ideal should you not wish to drink or dine elsewhere. The food menu provided plenty of options to choose from and included a section for kids. The service and staff.could not be faulted.
