Offering ski-to-door access, the family-run Berghotel Sellamatt is located above Alt Sankt Johann at the Sellamatt mountain station, at 4593 feet above sea level. Absolutely perfect location for quiet stay. Lots of hiking opportunities. I wasn't lucky to get a room with a balkony but one can always stay on the terrace and enjoy the view. Friendly staff, good food - all you need to enjoy your stay!

This traditional guest house in Alt St. Johann is just 1640 feet from the Sellamatt Ski Elevator. It includes a restaurant serving classic Swiss cuisine and offers free Wi-Fi in public areas. The breakfast included exceptional cheeses of the highest quality.
Set just less than 0.6 mi from Hoher Kasten, Landhuus Toggi offers accommodations in Alt Sankt Johann with access to a garden, ski-to-door access, as well as an ATM. Its a very central location if you have a car, half an hour from both big cities Zurich and Luzern. The host was amazing, very welcoming and very supportive as well . Very easy to check in and out.
Alt Sankt Johann offers everything required for a skiing vacation in walking distance from each location in the village. Never had to use our car. It kept its charme as I remember from my childhood 35-40 years ago. All the modernization was done in such a way that everything is state-of-the-art, but still looks cozy and like the rustic village is has always been. And most important, it offers easy and fast access to the combined sister skiing areas of Unterwasser (Chäserugg) and Wildhaus (Gamserugg). Even faster by using the chairlifts than going by car. Plus all week we never had to wait in a queue to get lifted up the mountain.
Great location for hiking and enjoying the Swiss alps. A must is to go to Enenalp where the Ascher house is! Take a gondola up the short walk along a narrow path to Ascher house. Food at the hotel is freshly prepared and delicious. Breakfast is typically European, meats with bread, no cereal and you pay extra for eggs.
