Perfect location for coming off the train and at the end of the "row" of hotels so doesn't feel like you're in the train station. Walkable to old town, restaurants and museums. Perfectly sized bedroom and shower was great. Staff was very friendly and gave great information upon arrival, and helped us find port info for our boat.

At the meeting point of Switzerland, Germany and France, Basel is an eclectic mix of historic and modern, tranquil and vibrant, with Swiss cleanliness and efficiency thrown in for good measure.
Augusta Raurica, on the outskirts, has a well-preserved Roman theater, while the Old Town is a museum of medieval buildings. The Renaissance Town Hall looks down on Marktplatz’s daily market, while the red sandstone and colorful tiles of the Münster were reconstructed in the 19th century. Bringing it right up to date are the modern creations of city residents Herzog & De Meuron, designers of London’s Tate Modern.
When you’ve finished exploring this architectural heritage, there are still plenty of things to do in Basel. The city’s fine art museum is the world’s oldest art collection, and the zoo is the oldest and largest in Switzerland. Remember to bring plenty of Swiss francs for the shopping mile along Clarastrasse and Freiestrasse.
The Basel accommodations on Booking.com range from hotels in Grossbasel to B&Bs in Kleinbasel, home to the nightlife. If you’re flying into Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport in February or March, you might just catch Fasnacht, Switzerland’s biggest carnival. You’ll have to get up early to catch the 4 am start, though!
Great city and plenty of good locations to reach by train.

I just loved walking around and exploring the markets (I found two ... the 2nd one was huge!). I also followed the maps provided ... found a botanical garden, got to see the key historic places, discover local shops and restaurants, as well as quiet courtyards to rest and just take in the ambiance. I got a free Basel transpo/tram card, but did not use it as I walked to the historic area easily. If I stayed longer, I would have used it to explore other parts of the city.

Basel is a perfect blend of culture, nature, and city life.
Basel is a perfect blend of culture, nature, and city life. One of my favorite activities was strolling along the beautiful riverside, where the calm waters of the Rhine and the scenic views create a peaceful atmosphere. The tram rides made getting around the city super convenient, and they’re also a fun way to experience Basel's charm.
Food lovers will enjoy the amazing hamburgers at Holy Cow and Burgermeister – both spots offer delicious options in relaxed settings. Shopping in Freiestrasse was also a highlight, with plenty of stores offering a mix of local and international brands.
For a touch of nature, I visited Zolli (Basel Zoo), which is perfect for families or anyone who loves animals. And the Papiermühle Museum offered a unique glimpse into Basel's papermaking history, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in local craftsmanship.
Overall, Basel is a vibrant and easy-to-explore city with something for everyone!

Basel is a great city to explore on foot.
Basel is a great city to explore on foot. I enjoyed walking along the river discovering museums and restaurants. I also liked exploring the major pedestrian area. I was able to walk from the train station but there is much public transport available, i.e. trams and buses. With the Basel card that I was given as part of my hotel stay, it also made visiting museums cheaper and provided free public transport for the duration of my stay.

For us, unfortunately Basel was not worth the trip, we were spending the last night of our holidays there because it is closer to the airport we used, and we thought it was going to be nice place but it was very expensive, not much to see and boring

Good amenities - an oven, washing machine, dishwasher, and stove. The bathroom was very nice and modern. It has a great shower and the TV was ideal for late night viewing. The check-in process was very smooth. The location was great as it was walking distance from the main areas. I personally wasn't a fan of Basel as there isn't a lot to do to be honest. It is stupidly expensive and I'm sure there's much better cities to visit in Switzerland. I won't be visiting Basel again.
Very close to the 14 tram, which was helpful for getting to the old town, train station and zoo. The shower was really nice, even if the bathroom gets wet when you use it. We were on the 11th floor and the big windows with the view of the city made the room feel bigger. With a baby cot in the room it was very difficult to get around, the rooms are quite small, but adequate. Overall, a decent place which would be overpriced if it hadn’t been in Switzerland.
Location. If you wanted to have a night out in Zurich and stumble home to bed, this facility works for you. No key to loose, no staff to be accountable to, and if you wanted to keep the party going you would blend in. I was attracted by the price and all things considered it was very cheap for Switzerland.
As expected, medium quality, but location exceptionally convenient. Friendly staff. Also they were kind enough to take care of our luggage for 5 days while we travelled around Switzerland.
It has 2 very comfy double beds, v good kitchen, and a perfect living room, with a dining table. Insanely good value for money… especially for Switzerland!
