Located in the village of Château d'Oex in the heart of the Swiss pre-Alps, the Bed&Breakfast Lodge Roc et Neige is only 5 minutes' walk from the train station and the center. Perfect breakfast with gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan options! The staff was super-nice. Both receptionists and the waitress are very profesional and willing to help and they accepted my special request. In fact, they exceeded my expectations. Thank you very much!
The friendly Hôtel de Ville is located in the center of the beautiful village of Château-d'Oex in the picturesque valley of the Pays d'Enhaut in the Canton of Vaud. Terrific value! My room was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. I liked having the kettle, tea and coffee. I had to leave early the next day and the owner was kind enough to provide me with a really good breakfast to go. I've been hiking across Switzerland for the last 3 weeks and this hotel was my favorite. Highly recommended.
The Hôtel-Buffet de la Gare is ideally located close to the center of Chateau d’Oex, directly next to the train and bus stations and only 55 yards from the ski lifts. Great location next to the train station, nice outdoor seating for meals, feeling of home in my room and everything very clean and quiet.
Offering free WiFi and city views, Les Mourriaux is a property located in Chateau-d'Oex. Stunning views from this mountainside location. A short 10-12min drive into Chateau D'oex. Exceptionally well-appointed and equipped accomodation. The kitchen even had a fondue maker.
Located in Chateau-d'Oex, 15 miles from Rochers de Naye, 30 miles from Chillon Castle and 31 miles from Musée National Suisse de l'audiovisuel, Les Grands Prés 31 provides accommodations with a... The location is fabulous. The chalet has everything you need, for the most part. (no dish soap or dishwasher soap though!) It is cozy and comfortable. The balcony is stupendous, with an incredible view. As we were two friends travelling together, we had to contact the owner after we arrived, as only one room had been made up. He responded right away and directed us to the sheets. This turned out not to be the correct location, so we had to make do with twin sheets on the master bed.
It's a lovely real village adjoining the greater Gstaad area. Great skiing especially in the region from Zweisimmen to Schönried but also in Gstaad itself and much nearer, from the Videmanette in Rougemont. Fantastic value for money
We visited to track down my late mother in law's childhood home so it was a very personal trip. We visited in September. The village is lovely with friendly people and a great selection of amenities including a hospital. The train running right through is both convenient and typical of the region - as a train lover, it was a nice bonus. The views are spectacular, the air beyond fresh. It felt like stepping into a chocolate box picture or a living postcard. We loved it and will go again as soon as we are able.
Loved this place, we haven’t been for a few years but it still has lots of character and places to eat and drink and a well stocked supermarket. Just a pitty the ski slopes/lifts are currently closed as this was a nice small ski area. Short walk to train station to get to other ski areas, so chateaux doex is a nice base. There is a great place that does the most amazing pizzas,
There is not a lot of hotels in the village like there was years ago, some have been converted into apartments. There is a good choice of places to get something to eat or drink. There is a handy Co-Op supermarket near the Railway Station.
It’s a cool little town, especially during the hot air balloon festival. Too bad the La Braye cablecar has been closed down, however there’s plenty of good skiing in the area. Good train and postbus connections to all surrounding ski villages.
What's not to love about Chateau-d'Oex. Stunning location and plenty to do close by. You relax as soon as you arrive. There are good restaurants and some nice shops. The supermarket is well stocked too
The friendliness of the Hotel staff. The contact with the local population. The breakfast was excellent (although we were somewhat plagued by flies!) We would not hesitate to return to the Hotel de la Gare should we return to Chateau-d'Oex in the future.
Charming hotel with a cozy Alpine feel and comfortable rooms. Parking was easy (in the back) and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout. It is centrally located and has a casual bar/restaurant downstairs where we enjoyed ice cream and dinner.
The hotel position is very good, 5 min walking from the village center and quiet. There is spacious parking on site and a nice garden. The room was a bit minimalistic but clean.
great apartment view fantastic view in a former hotel building with pool and gym. large balcony and terace. Spacious rooms.
Everything at the highest level rarely found in private facilities in Switzerland
Super little hotel. Very good to have something like this in Château d’Oex
