Located in Chateau-d'Oex, Maison d'hôtes Ermitage has a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. We couldn’t go due to a cancellation of our ballon trip but the manager was extremely nice and kind and understanding. We will visiof when they open again.
The Hôtel-Buffet de la Gare is ideally located close to the center of Chateau d’Oex, directly next to the train and bus stations and only 55 yards from the ski lifts. An old hotel next to the train station. No disturbance whatsoever from the trains, not even with window open. Room was OK, no luxury but very clean, and comfortable beds. Bathroom and WC in the hallway. Toilet was not very "high quality" , shower room was fine. Breakfast was the ordinary bread butter jam and coffee. Ok but not over the top. It is a lovely spot in the alps wit super winding roads to get there, and this makes it worth the visit.
Les Mourriaux is located in Chateau-d'Oex. The property is 25 miles from Kandersteg, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Everything at the highest level rarely found in private facilities in Switzerland
Featuring a spa bath, Chalet Du Mont is located in Chateau-d'Oex. The property is 25 miles from Kandersteg, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. The apartment is located in a beautiful and spacious wooden chalet. The view from the chalet onto the mountains is impressive. The place is quiet. The whole apartment is very clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable and equipped with everything you could dream of (and there are no stairs inside, which is a big plus with young kids!). There is a private and safe covered parking. The host is welcoming, helpful and non-intrusive. This is a great place we can only highly recommend! We enjoyed our stay very much.
Located in Chateau-d'Oex in the Vaud region, Les Grands Prés 31 features a balcony and mountain views. The location is fabulous. The chalet has everything you need, for the most part. (no dish soap or dishwasher soap though!) It is cozy and comfortable. The balcony is stupendous, with an incredible view. As we were two friends travelling together, we had to contact the owner after we arrived, as only one room had been made up. He responded right away and directed us to the sheets. This turned out not to be the correct location, so we had to make do with twin sheets on the master bed.
We visited to track down my late mother in law's childhood home so it was a very personal trip. We visited in September. The village is lovely with friendly people and a great selection of amenities including a hospital. The train running right through is both convenient and typical of the region - as a train lover, it was a nice bonus. The views are spectacular, the air beyond fresh. It felt like stepping into a chocolate box picture or a living postcard. We loved it and will go again as soon as we are able.
Loved this place, we haven’t been for a few years but it still has lots of character and places to eat and drink and a well stocked supermarket. Just a pitty the ski slopes/lifts are currently closed as this was a nice small ski area. Short walk to train station to get to other ski areas, so chateaux doex is a nice base. There is a great place that does the most amazing pizzas,
There is not a lot of hotels in the village like there was years ago, some have been converted into apartments. There is a good choice of places to get something to eat or drink. There is a handy Co-Op supermarket near the Railway Station.
It’s a cool little town, especially during the hot air balloon festival. Too bad the La Braye cablecar has been closed down, however there’s plenty of good skiing in the area. Good train and postbus connections to all surrounding ski villages.
What's not to love about Chateau-d'Oex. Stunning location and plenty to do close by. You relax as soon as you arrive. There are good restaurants and some nice shops. The supermarket is well stocked too
Chateau-d'Oex has a lot going for it which is why I am choosing to purchase a secondary home there. There is a quite a lot to do there and has good infrastructure for daily living. For example during my recent stay there was a colourful VW camper van meet up which was fun to see. There are many lovely walks and bicycle tracks as well as tennis courts, swimming pools, bowling alley etc etc. The locals are friendly and it is a really beautiful place to visit. The only downside for travellers from other countries is that Switzerland is generally a very expensive country to visit. It is still possible to enjoy oneself but for most part it needs to be on a budget. I ate out at some of the local restaurants which were very good but also bought some excellent salads and easy meals in the Co-Op supermarket.

The location was well placed, with access to walks and cycling paths and the village close by too. The rooms were clean, and the bed was decent. The wifi was strong. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful, with a range of breads, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, hot drinks and a few fruits. Parking was easy enough to find. The hotel looks as it does on the pictures. The bathroom has the basic toiletries.
The hotel was recently renovated. Very nice atmosphere and scent throughout the hotel. Very kind and helpful staff. Stunning view on the mountains. Very comfortable bed. The hotel supports the local economy by using products from the region. 10 minutes walk from train station.
Great cozy hotel. We stayed here when cross country skiing up in les Mosses. There are some takeout food options in the town that you can walk to and bring back to the hotel and there was a nice little table and sitting area in the room. Very nice and friendly staff.
Central location in the town. Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, good humoured. Good choice for breakfast and plentiful, coffee replenished without asking! For Switzerland, near to a skiing area, it was very good value.

We have already come last year. Very comfortable Apartment, very well equipped and with a very nice view. We only regret the exchange fees that are added to the price paid because the hirer delegates the payment of the rental to Booking. This situation increases the price of the apartment while ' it was indicated in Swiss francs and paid in Switzerland.
It's a very charming and cosy place. I had a feeling that I was at a place of my friends. The staff was super friendly and took care of so many small things. The team helped us with planning our hiking trip with many details and suggestions ( even with a number of phone if we are lost).
the breathtaking view of the alps which enlarges the living space does that the apartment is really well equipped as to live in with plenty of carpets, paintings and dishes
I ' found a great welcome from the staff and the breakfast was fabulous and plentiful. The location of the hotel was beautiful at the cradle of the mountains.
Very nice lady, very clean. Warm and nice room, toilets and bathroom are just near the room, like at home. The lady made our staying as comfortable, as possible.
The ' friendliness and kindness of the staff, and their availability are really to highlight!
The truth is that everything, is beautiful, very well equipped and the place is very beautiful
"Home made" Succulent at breakfast.
