The hotel is beautifully located and the staff is so sweet and made us feel special. The breakfast is AMAZING, not just in variety, but also in quality. They have the best croissants on the planet. We booked a small room which was fine for a one-night stay. We went for a short walk and enjoyed a nap outside on the lounge chairs (with cozy blankets provided). The terrasse offers stunning views and dinner was delicious, with large portions.

The hotel is brand new, having opened on 20 December 2025, and it truly shows. Everything felt fresh, modern, and impeccably clean, with excellent amenities throughout. The gym was outstanding, and the inviting living room area featured comfortable, chic couches, games to enjoy, and a great selection of books. The room was spacious, stylish, and very well maintained, offering modern comforts and a high level of cleanliness. Free parking conveniently located right in front of the entrance was an added bonus and made the stay even more convenient.

A True Swiss Gem

A True Swiss Gem Nestled in the heart of the mountains, this place is pure alpine bliss. The sound of cowbells, the crisp mountain air, and the best raclette I’ve ever had—made from cheese crafted on-site by their own master cheesemaker. A truly unforgettable Swiss experience.

Numerous sports opportunities: hiking trails, both steep and flat in the summer and groomed in the winter, a river, a field, and an ice rink, as well as nearby downhill and cross-country ski trails. The small (and quiet) train station is convenient.

Madulain's location is perfect for exploring the Engadine...

Madulain's location is perfect for exploring the Engadine region. The house is built and maintained in the beautiful, natural Engadine style, and this charm is still evident today. The cuisine is indescribable – it simply must be experienced! Anyone seeking peace, nature, and culinary delights will feel completely at ease and at home at Chesa Colani!

A beautiful Engadine village with lots of charm and style.

A beautiful Engadine village with lots of charm and style. The landscape is stunning, offering endless hiking opportunities. There's a small farm shop, but unfortunately, we didn't find any other shops in the village. Public transport connections are excellent: you can quickly reach various destinations by bus and train. We would love to visit this lovely village again.

Madulain is a beautiful little village with traditional Engadine houses, situated directly on the Inn River and surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Engadine region. Other idyllic villages and excellent restaurants are within easy reach.

A very small, typical Engadine village at the foot of the Albula Pass, yet centrally located (between Lower and Upper Engadine)! Ideal for sports such as hiking, cycling, inline skating, horse riding, golf, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, mountain training, altitude training, etc. Bus and train connections are available.
