In the perfect spot for the best Matterhorn views, as long as the mountain doesn’t hide in the clouds. Spend the extra for a Matterhorn view. The first two days you could not see anything. Zermatt is still stunning. The morning we had to check out, there it was in all its glory with a lot of fresh snow. I will never forget the experience of it! The staff were all wonderful, and the breakfast outstanding. A bucket list item checked off with an exclamation point!!❤️

Our stay at Hotel Daniela was wonderful. I loved that there were comfy bathrobes in the room plus a coffee maker. The room was a great size, with a small sitting area and a balcony. There was a small bar in the lobby which was nice as we got a bottle of wine a couple of times from them. The breakfast was wonderful and they had some cakes out in the afternoon as well. Location was great - not right in downtown area but close enough.

Zermatt is a destination location, so expect people to come in droves to see the Matterhorn. If you stay in town, it seems relatively quieter at night and in the morning. While there are a number of "attractions" that you can take a train, funicular or tram to, Zermatt has some great hiking trials accessible from the village. All in all, it is a beautiful place and the Matterhorn is a striking site to behold.

This area is a gem of nature’s majesty.
This area is a gem of nature’s majesty. Rode the train up to Gronergrat so that was a delight to be way up there. But the hike down was moderate in difficulty & the views were incredible. On another day, hiking to Taesch was a great way to explore the area. Several choices of local markets. Crowds were around the village center but not oppressively so (think Venezia or 5Terre).

A must see!
A must see! Breathtaking to see the Matterhorn in real life, lovely little Swiss village with chalets, restaurants and boutiques; many opportunities to alk, hike, take telecabines for those less physically able or incline to exercise.

Zermatt is the perfect small mountain town.
Zermatt is the perfect small mountain town. Lots of nearby hiking and very good lifts up into the mountains. On a clear day the views are spectacular. The nearby gorge is also a great place to hike and view nature. Ate at the Brown Cow—excellent burgers.

After visiting Zermatt for a week in January to ski we returned at the beginning of September to get an appreciation of The Alps in late summer / early autumn for 3 nights 4 days. And it did not disappoint. We had all weather from 25 degrees and sunny (in the town) to -1 and a snow storm (at Glacier Paradise). Mostly combustion engine free you get around Zermatt by walking. Alternatively there are electric taxis or a free electric shuttle bus. Take the train up to Gornergrat and the cable cars to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Both pricey but worth it. Our tip would be to get the Peak to Peak pass. If you pay for a 2 or 3 day pass you will get unlimited access to both of these (instead of just one return journey) and all the other open trains, gondolas and cable cars and then you can do as much or as little hiking / walking around the mountain trails as you wish. Still not cheap but the best value for money by far.

Zermatt is, in a word, magical.
Zermatt is, in a word, magical. It boasts the iconic Matterhorn, which enthralls visitors, and the village, though getting larger by the year, is still so charming and historic. You can walk all over town in less than half an hour. There are no cars, no parking lots, no traffic - heaven. You do have to dodge the zippy electric delivery carts that careen along the streets, but that's part of the fun. The lift tickets are expensive but worth every penny - once you get up to the higher areas, the views are spectacular. The best thing is to hike or ski the trails to lunch at one of the many mountain huts along the way. Be careful researching accommodations in Zermatt, as many places are a challenging uphill walk - the further toward the edges of town a place is, the higher on a hill it's likely to be, as the Zermatt valley is narrow and steep. However, some newer places have put in elevators that take you up to their place.
I traveled in Europe for 15 days. I can say that this is the best place to stay on my trip. The room is clean, spacious, complete with amenities. The important thing is that there is a view of the matterhorn as well.
The breakfast was impressive. The same level as a luxuary hotel Delicious and varied, especially the melon and parma ham.
Location was near zermatt station
Highly recommend this hotel, if there is a chance, will definitely come back to stay again.
this hotel is located in a very unique location, with an amazing matterhorn view... the decoration of the rooms and the restaurants are very nice and mountain style chic. They are mostly concentrated on the 4 restaurants and the bar, with its F&B and the service..., upscale level..., but dont expect the same for the Hotel...., the concierge Mr.Marvin is perfect, he tries his best, even opens the ski room and helps to fix your boots, during 11am and 15 pm
A very clean room with plenty of space but it has to be said - it’s dated. The room has everything you would need though - fridge, large balcony, great location. Zermatt and indeed Switzerland is pricey - this was one of the cheapest hotels we stayed in.
I booked it for my friend coming from England, it was their first time in switzerland, And They told me it was the "BEST HOLIDAY" , mostly staying in this hotel we've booked for them they've enjoyed a lot. Thank you so much 💝🥰
very nice hotel and only walking distance to attraction area and to Zermatt Train Station…I really enjoyed staying here…The best part; I enjoyed seen the Matterhorn from the hotel…
