Located in Hanga Roa, within 0.7 mi of Playa Pea and 13 mi of Ahu Tongariki, Takarua Lodge provides accommodations with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Takarua Lodge is the VERY BEST place to stay on Rapa Nui / Easter Island. The perfect, most beautifully scenic location and home-base to see everything on the island. I highly recommend you booking this hotel! I spent two weeks on the island during the Tapati Rapa Nui festival, and this is one of the most scenic spots, with amazing restaurants (possibly the best on the island) within a short walk (Puka Puka is incredible, and Te Moai Sunset is literally next door). A perfect spot to watch the sunrise and sunset daily over the moai of the Ahu Tahai / Ahu Ko Te Riku (literally in your backyard) and the nearby (and mostly hidden from the crowds) Ahu Akapu moai, just a 5 minute walk past the Museum (also a great spot to visit!). Free parking, if needed, and it's easy to walk to the waterfront attractions. There's also a small mini-market near Puka Puka that became a hidden gem when not wanting to walk to the main streets. It's a short walk to the main waterfront strip of shops, or just a little longer to the main street, Atamu Tekena, where most of the markets / restaurants and tourist shops are. Pick-up and drop-off from the airport was incredibly easy to plan, with great communication at all times from the hotel, with helpful recommendations of local car rental locations as well. Their English is much better than my Spanish, and I never had any troubles! Daily continental breakfast was appreciated and a perfect way to the start the day, the rooms were perfect and spotless, great A/C, and beautiful decks to appreciate the views from. TV was great in the room, although not often watched. Amazing shower, hot water, everything you need. A+++ Romina + Valentina at the front desk were endlessly patient and helpful with me, never hesitating to answer questions or book taxis or tours.

Only 984 feet from Pea Beach, Hotel Manavai Hanga Roa is located in the center of downtown Hanga Roa. Free parking is provided and free WiFi in the common areas. We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Manavai! I'm so glad I didn't pay attention to some of the negative reviews, as we have no complaints about this property. The receptionist Lander was super friendly and very accommodating, making sure our stay was just perfect. Maururu! We loved our room, spacious, quiet and comfortable (and bug free!). The restaurant located upstairs (Mahalo) is a must! Delicious food and great service as well. It also offers great views to watch the Tapati festival parade (another must in Rapa Nui!). The breakfast was good and served in a nice area, surrounded by Moais and lush vegetation. The gardens are lovely. We didn't used the pool, but it looked inviting. Next time!

Everything was great! To start from the welcome to the goodbye! Paul is the perfect host, always ready to help you with anything and also all his staff are excellent. Julio is a lovely driver and Nadia cooks beautifully! The rooms are immaculate and very clean, there is an electric blanket for the bed and every morning they serve a beautiful breakfast. The hotel is only a short walk away from the city centre where you can find lots of restaurants/cafes. If ever I will come back to Easter Island I would definitely stay here again. Fascinating to see the Moai statues up close. A car is necessary to get around the island though the roads are mostly dirt and not well sealed. Beware of big potholes! And wandering horses and cattle. However driving is quite easy. Sunsets are spectacular. Loved Easter Island, really off the usual tourist track.
It was a most interesting trip which is what we expected. Our guide, Chris with Green Island Tours was amazing. He was so full of energy and stories. We learned so much . That is what made our trip so special. We lucked out with him. We had two amazing dinners at Mahola and Neptune Island. So, our tours were great and we enjoyed walking the town.
Nice little tiny town but extremely or very expensive compared to Santiago or South America in general. Although understandable given it’s an island that needs to import almost everything. Accommodation is expensive but totally worth it. The parc is about 60-70 euros for 10 days - although I don’t think people stay more than a couple of days as the island is only 25 km x 4 ish big. Once you’ve seen the Moais, you don’t really go back. There’s a tiny little beach’ quite nice. There’s a great and popular sandwich place is the city centre. They make great burgers , serve beers and great strawberry juices. Go for the burgers and share a portion of fries as they’re quite big. Rent a car , we paid about 45 euro for 24 hours and it’s totally worth it. If you want to take your time and rent a bike it costs around 15 euro for 24 hours too.
Loved that the town isn't overly commercialized and that locals are the ones who run the businesses and restaurants. We found a favorite restaurant with our host's recomendations and ate there 3 nights of our five night stay. (Restaurant Hakahonu, small and casual with a great view of the ocean and the best ceviche in town.) If you like to walk, you don't need a car around town. And seeing the Moai and archeological sights is much better with a local guide driving and catering to your interests and needs.
It's a very spiritual place to visit. Would recommend reading thg he history of the island before you visit. Hire a private tour giide to take you around to get the most out if the island and culture.
It's an interesting small beach town with enough interesting restaurants and small independent tourist shops to e entertaining. The history is unique and the moai plentiful and impressive. Lovely flowery greenery and great tours available. An interesting museum.
We went there not expecting much extra because of some previous reviews. I was very surprised at how cozy, nice and comfortable the hotel was. Staff was excellent. The only negative, if you call it a negative, which I don't because I didn't go there to sit on Wi-Fi, but if that's an issue for you, the room we stayed in you had to go to the lobby or near the lobby to access Wi-Fi from our room. Some rooms have wifi so it can be requested. I thought the place was lovely and had a nice effect outside with the landscape. I would definitely stay again. We had requested a room with air conditioning and there was four of us traveling together.

The front desk staff was great with all our questions, shuttles were perfect, breakfast offerings varied and tasty, the mattress was firm and very comfortable BUT the blanket much, much too heave for warm weather. Towels were large and absorbent.
