We thought Puerto Natales would only be a stop over on our way to Torres del Paine, but when we walked around we discovered how beautiful the town was. If the weather is nice, you can't miss sunset on the waterfront.
The price is similar with California yet the food quality in the restaurant is much better. Do note that the tip 10% tip is included in the bill 99% of restaurant, so don’t pay double tip ( like we did the first two days)
Puerto Natales is known for being the jumping off place for Torres del Paine national Park. It’s also a great base for glacier trips, fjord cruises, the mastodon cave and Patagonia. The town itself is quite charming and rustic, and reminiscent of a fishing town in British Columbia or southern Alaska
The main thing Puerto Natales has going for it is its proximity to Torres del Paine. There are very few if any tourist attractions in the town itself. Lots of restaurants and shops around Plaza de Armas, so try to get a hotel as close to it as you can.
A vibrant, clean and friendly village. Anything you could possibly want or need is available - including several fine outdoor stores and excellent restaurants - Kaiden and Mesita Grande are only a couple of the many! The overall feel and atmosphere of the village is palpable. Even without the overwhelming draw of Torres del Paine, the town is worthy of time spent just relaxing and decompressing from your travels.
The Mesita Grande is a must restaurant. Note: the short road to Torres del Paine is under construction or repair is temporarily closed. There’s a detour near the Puerto Natales airport but it’s not clear or well marked so ask directions otherwise you’ll end up going the long way to the National Park. Gas becomes an issue because there are no gas stations in or near the park. The hostel directly in front of the Rio Serrano Hotel sells emergency gas at 4 times the cost and comes in a plastic container. Also, there’s now two new cafes in the park that offer a reasonably priced menu. One is at Lago Grey parking lot and the other is at Pudeto parking lot (where you catch the Pudeto catamaran). The Lago Grey Cafe has a mini-market that sells food items, snacks, alcohol and coffee similar to a gas station convenience store.

It was our second stay there. One of the best hostels we had in four weeks in Chile. Very nicely furbished common area. The room was great, cozy and warm. Very good breakfast from 6:30am , perfect if you want to go to Torres del Paine National Park. The restaurant is great as well, they serve burgers, nachos etc. Best thing is the nice and helpful staff. They really took time to give us perfect and competent advice for our trekking in TdP NP. Simply a 10 out of 10.

Beautiful hotel just outside the town of Puerto Natales, but close enough to walk in if you're up for a bit of exercise. Gorgeous view from the restaurant and reception area. Warm, friendly staff, the majority of whom speak good English. Good breakfast spread and the dinner I had one night at the Enoo Restaurant was very good. Comfortable and clean room and bathroom.

Extremely kind host (Jose Mari) that cares for his guests. He serves maybe the best coffee in Chile! Excellent breakfast with eggs to order, the best (and huge) lunchbox we ever had, brandnew simple, but immaculate clean rooms, fluffy towels, great shower and a very comfortable bed! Maybe the best accommodation in Puerto Natales for the rate!

The location is good, a few blocks from the centre of town but Puerto Natales is small, it's hard to be too far out. The people running the place seem well-meaning, even though they don't know what they are doing. Breakfast wasn't bad, especially considering you usually don't get any in Chile.

Very very kind, friendly and helpful staff. Many hostels promote their place with "you will feel like home blablabla" but here it is absolutely true. Breakfast is awesome and changes daily! I hardly doubt you will find something better for that price in Puerto Natales - so book here!

The staff here was amazing. So very helpful and kind. They spoke enough English to help us (we try but are pretty terrible at Spanish) and they were so considerate of our needs and made sure we had breakfast every day even when our tours had us leaving hotel very early.

Lovely little place in a nice location in Puerto Natales, close to the water and a range of nice restaurants. But... By far the best part of this hotel is Macarena, who goes above and beyond in every possible way to help guests.
