Outstanding combination of stellar service, superb accomodation and great food. We paid $1,300 per night which is way more than what we usually spend on hotels and yet we thought we got a lot of value for this price (our kids stayed free and we also got one night free in Santiago at the Ritz Carlton plus all airport transfers) on top of the stuff that is typically included (all excursions, food etc.). Can't recommend highly enough!

Many things to see, tours a bit costly. If flying in to Colama, the van companies that get you to San Pedro, rip you off. No one will tell you anything about the cheaper buses. Do research before arriving. The sites you visit are amazing. The roads have been improved, so not longer bone jarring.
Hippie city in the middle of the desert with interesting people and breathtaking landscapes, though a bit pricey and maybe too crowded with annoying, egoic, selfie-obsessed tourists. When in San Pedro, rent a bike a do a volcano hike!
A small village with lots of tours to go on. It’s not cheap though. Expect to spend money but that’s understandable being that this is how the residents of the village make their livelihood. The people are the friendliest I’ve ever met.
If you want silence, a place for introspection, or are nature loving- this is for you. If you’re looking for an adrenalin packed trip- this isn’t really for you, although you can find a trip or two you’ll enjoy( gosafari atving). We went with our 5 children ages 11-26, and found things for everyone to enjoy. Our highlights were swimming/floating in the salt lagoons, and atv dune buggying by valle de la luna, sand boarding and just plain driving around on rental bikes. This is my second time I was in san pedro and my night time star gazing tour was canceled for cloudy skys- so tip- if its a clear night go! Don’t wait!
Let’s all care for the environment. Beautiful rustic environment. Colors, people and landscape are spectacular especially the valley of arcoiris and el tatio. Keep your butts to yourself, stop smoking and don’t litter. Lots of stray dogs that need care. We saw some bags of food for the animals around town. Appreciate the beauty of natural surrondings.
San Pedro was a let down. It is a dirty, dusty town that is a tourist trap. Yes the sights nearby are nice but you pay a lot for a tours, food and hotels. We were disappointed how you felt that everywhere they were just trying to exploit you for money. We really enjoyed the Chuxa Lagoon, Valle de Luna and star gazing and glad we did it but two days is plenty enough for San Pedro. It's disappoint that you have to pay so much for everything and it's not even great quality or worth the money! For Valle de Luna I recommend renting bikes in town and doing the tour your self. With the tours you basically just pay for someone to drive you around. They don't give you much explanation especially if you only speak English as most tours are both Spanish and English. Skip this tourist trap if you can and see the Salt Flats in Bolivia

We stayed for 6 days at Terrantai and just loved it!! The hotel is rustic but renewed and very cozy. The bed is great and rooms have a nice space! Every night they offer a very nice wine & cheese tasting where you can meet the other guests and socialize. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The location is just the best - close to everything in the city center and main street / markets and restaurants. Every night after a full day tour, it was great to go back to the hotel, we just felt like being at home.

Beautiful, cosy and calm hostel, super clean rooms, kitchen and common areas. We loved staying in this hostel and Rodrigo welcomed us warmly and helped us to organise our transfers, tours and upcoming trips with lots of kindness and patience before we arrive and during our stay. Most probably our best experience in South America so far. The breakfast was really nice and the days we had to leave early, we had a snack ready for us in the fridge. We highly recommend staying there if you visit San Pedro de Atacama.

We got delayed in calama and got to the hotel at 1am. They opened for us, got us into our room directly and said we should rest and could do check in the morning after. I did really appreciate it as we had been travelling since 6am! Room was spacious, nice and extremely clean. The hotel is a nice lodge perfectly immersed into nature. At morning is bright and breakfast is above average in Chile (they prepared scrambled eggs for us). Wifi not the best but ok, walking distance from bus terminal and city center.

We really enjoyed the staff and especially Gustavo, who made our stay in San Pedro de Atacama truly memorable. We enjoyed a great breakfast and the use of the communal kitchen, which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We appreciated the small courtyard and that this is a Hostel with a limited number of rooms. It was really quiet and very clean. Thank you, Gustavo, we will be back and we are looking forward to sharing Our New Years Eve with you and your lovely wife.

Clean room, hot shower, great staff, a very kind lady. They helped us store luggage and it is possible to use the common room (with kitchen / fridge and good WiFi. location wise - It is about 10 min walk to the downtown San Pedro de Atacama but it is just 2 min walk to bus terminal (for transfer to Calama, the closest airport) With the price you pay for, it’s not easy to find alternative which has private bathroom

I rarely get excited about accommodation as a seasoned traveler but after a month in South America mixing hostels with hotels, this is by far my favourite place. So relaxed, friendly, helpful, generous, quiet and comfortable. If it's available on your dates book it and just enjoy the experience and perfect location.

They clean the room and do the bed everyday, besides there is water to drink at the hotel, which is something pricey for a city like san pedro, so we saved some money not having to buy water all the time. 1 minutes walking from the hotel we took the picture that I am sharing.
