Night shift staff name Lucas was rude and arrogant, who does not speak English. He was not helpfull. I was reading passed reviews and seem like the hostal volunteer staff are not knowlegible of their job. I understand that hostal are saving money by using volunteers but these people are not accountable. Management should try to fixed these issues. Hire local staff not transient volunteers or Train well your volunteers and put reception staff who know how to speak and understand English and not volunteers who are irresponsible and unfriendly.
it is not easy to fall in love with a city immediately, but you can learn to love , you will find the life overthere is just same as every corner in all over the world. don't forget to go to san cristobal hill！
We loved walking around Santiago visiting colorful neighborhoods, historical churches, and sampling a variety of local foods. Weather in February was perfect. A nightclub with dinner show is a Must. There is so much energy in the Latin music and dancing. Our hotel on Merced was a great central location.
My fiance lives here but he's never been to a hotel so he got to see the finer side of Chile. He enjoyed his stay...it was his birthday gift from me. I live in the US. He couldn't have been happier. His heart was full
We visited Santiago 20 years ago, over time it had changed a lot very positive changes. Good place to spend 10 days to two weeks Food is excellent. Some places in downtown - one must be vigilant otherwise is a safe city, just be aware of your surroundings. Though Chilean peso has devaluated a lot - still thing are relatively expensive but not at killer level. Hop on - Hop off has unmarked stops very difficult to use the service comfortably. Many museums are free or free to seniors. Let them know you re senior.

We really like everything abou this hotel and would gladly stay again. It is a beautiful hotel with great access to downtown Santiago. The historic site was very interesting - sharing grounds with Chile's oldest church and Londres St with the historic plaques of the 'missing' beside it. We really appreciated the room upgrade. It was beautiful. We enjoyed the terrace bar with the lovely accommodating staff and the main restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious lunch and the included breakfast.

This a 19th century mansion turned hotel, a beautiful setting. For those visiting city center, it has a perfect location. 5 blocks from Plaza de Armas and La Moneda, 3 blocks from the main highway leading to the airport, a 15 min drive. Also very close to the Lastarria neighborhood, full of trendy restaurants and bars. The house is very nicely decorated, with memorabilia of city history. My room was very small but comfortable and quiet (no hair blower). Also close to metro and bus stops.

Comfortable modern apartment with plenty of space for two people (might be a little tight for three). It seems a little odd at first but this is a very professional operation renting out dozens of apartments spread around a large housing complex in downtown Santiago. Great location, close to lots of bars and restaurants and most attractions. Really good value (for Chile) - we paid no more than we would have for a basic hotel room.

Everything. I have stayed at the most expensive hotel in Santiago. It was 3x the price! It was nicer, but not by much, and it was not as good as their other properties around the world... It wad located closer to the older part of the city but still is not within a reasonable walking distance. Taxis are so cheap it makes no sense to stay in the old Downtown. This Hilton property is excellent and managed way beyond its price point.

Staff was courteous and attentive. Breakfast was impressive specially the scramble eggs (there's a la carte egg menu and sweet crepes). But the most luxurious part was the roof top bar that gives you an amazing view of Andes mountains and the view of Santiago city, including the its tallest tower Sky Costanera. The area which it situated (Providencia) is a very good one as well. Would use this hotel again when I come back!

Rooms are big and comfortable. Bed was good enough for me to sleep well. The hotel staff is amazing. They allowed us to leave our luggage for 4 days (we did Atakama trip), all the transfers were perfectly organized. Also they gave us late check out. Hotel is located really close to the airport (7-8 min by car). Best choice for those who uses Santiago as a connection to other locations like Patagonia or Atakama.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel! The location was fantastic, as we were able to easily walk to some great restaurants nearby. The rooftop bar (with a view to the Andes!) was a great spot for a drink at sunset. The breakfast was delightful, and all staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we returned to Santiago.

The hotel was very clean and offered a nice breakfast. Its location is far away from the downtown but very close to the business centers and conventional halls. Also, you may have metro to the downtime where a substation is located very close to the hotel.
