Santiago is a beautiful city that is well worth visiting. What impressed me the most was the cuisine. I am Brazilian and love gastronomy, and Santiago was the place where I found the most delicious food. I also loved the way Chileans welcome Brazilians. The people are very polite and willing to help. The city is relatively safe, especially if you stay in the Las Condes area. Santiago is an awesome city.
Santiago is an awesome city. The people are wonderful and there are so many great restaurants. The metro system is the best in South America - clean efficient and safe. I would recommend la Biferia for excellent wine and steak, and la giratorio for something a little bit gimmicky but also awesome.

Interesting city with easy access metro system. Highlights included San Cristobal Hill for the view and the main square. Due to the issues with pickpockets and street crime, it does require being hypervigilant with your valuables. We were touring the area around the Central Market when a local man approached us (2 women) and warned us that we were not safe in that area and needed to leave. Uber was the best way to get around and very cheap.

I did not feel safe walking around even during the day and came home straight after dinner each night. We liked Lastarria district at night for dinner.
