Service at the Pullman Lijiang was fantastic! Emily at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! She checked on us throughout our stay making sure we had even we needed and even inquiring if we needed breakfast delivered to our room. She even put together a safe trip package for us when we were leaving to go home which included a mask, antibacterial wipes etc. We would without a doubt stay there again. This was our first time at a Pullman Hotel but definitely will not be our last!

The design of the room was so stylish and practical, bed super comfortable, shower great, sofa/desk - wow great design. And room was super clean. Staff was also incredibly kind and helpful especially when I stupidly lost my room key in a matter of hours of receiving it ugh. Price of room was extremely reasonable too. After staying here, I plan to seek out this hotel brand in the future elsewhere - I was Very Impressed

Lijiang old town is pretty incredible. Regardless of the tacky tourist shops which sell the same stuff...The architecture, laneways, stonework, FLOWERS! plants, rivers, streams and bridges make the experience. We found great authentic, real, inexpensive places to eat in. It is NOT easy to get around on the first day, but the second and third days you get a feel for the layout. But be prepared to get lost! Make sure you have a Chinese version of maps on your phone...
We had no plans except to wander, we went up to the viewing platform. We checked out "bar street" but preferred to eat in the smaller alleyway joints.
You could take a thousand photos here. Early morning is great for photos with no one around and before the shops open, the wooden doors are still on the shop fronts...
There is a real market selling fruit veggies fish meat etc. People do still live in old town thank goodness so you do get a real life feeling. We stayed for 2 nights and we thought that was enough. Highly recommend!

Lijiang ancient city that we haven’t explored completely.
Lijiang ancient city that we haven’t explored completely. Will return. Black Dragon Park with its ancient water wheels. Very surprised to find McDonalds and KFC in the park. We finally got our cups of hard to find coffee in Lijiang. What a real treat! Several stores displayed beautiful decorative dresses of different ethnicities but not for sale as they were only rented out for photo shoots. Unfortunately couldn’t purchase one for my wife. Friendly people and exceptionally fantastic ancient places to visit. Goodbye Lijiang, etc. until we meet again soon!

A very good check-in experience.
A very good check-in experience. After placing the order, they contacted us immediately and communicated with us in advance about the weather conditions and precautions in Lijiang. They really cared about everything and felt warm at home. After arriving, there were also some small surprises, such as flower cakes and a cup of hot tea, which really made me feel flattered and surprised. I have never experienced it before. Time is too rushed, otherwise we must stay for a few more days

In 20 years the lovely, quiet and quaint town of Lijiang has developed like no other, become a tourist magnet (seemingly mostly for Mainland Chinese tourists) and has almost completely lost its charm... unless you wake up early and walk in the deserted streets at sunrise (before 8am). From morning onward it is choking with tourists, even in low season (can't imagine high season !!), discos at night become restaurants during the day, and the whole place is just guesthouses, retail shops and restaurants. Even old ladies selling strawberries can't give change on 20 yuan and ask for payment by AliPay or WeChat Pay!!
Shuhe and Baisha are no better, victim of their "heritage" status that has completely destroyed the soul of those places.
Luckily, with electric cars and electric scooter the air is fairly pure and the sky still blue. It makes for nice photos, but forget originality. A very good example of a UNESCO Heritage site that has become a victim of its success... go and visit before it's even worse, but in low season please............
Location was perfect for visiting the ancient town. Breakfast was good. The layout of the hotel was interesting and liked that there were several entrances into the old town. Staff were attentive especially Kokole (? spelling) who cleaned the three rooms we occupied. On the last night, she even left the door to the safe opened as a reminder that I had items in the safe. Very thoughtful. The hotel compound was beautiful and well maintained. Shame there were no balconies to sit and view the gardens from the upstairs rooms.
I enjoyed my stay at the October Inn. Following the instructions I received by mail, the hostel was easy to find. It‘s location is a bit up the hill and in short walking distance to the old town (it’s a quiet neighbourhood). The owners are very helpful and kind, owning a little happy dog that likes to be petted. They even shared some delicious peaches with us! The beds are comfortable and I loved their little yard to hang out. When I return to Lijiang, I certainly will stay at the October Inn again!
The hotel is in a great location next to the old town. It is a very cute place with a rooftop/courtyard area outside. The owners are super helpful. They don't speak English, but they will answer any questions you need if you translate them. I mostly used wechat to communicate with them. They also helped me to book transportation to and from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
It was a lovely, roomy apartment, comfortable beds and extremely well-located, on a quiet street near the centre of Lijiang Old Town. Great balcony too, with nice views. The owner was brilliant - helpful, friendly and with lots of good advice. So we ate well too. A lovely short stay.
The time spent at this hotel was the most memorable of the trip. The hotel staff is very friendly! We knew very little about Lijiang. They helped us and we gave them vodka we bought in China. It was an unforgettable trip.
