We had a lovely three-day stay here at this family run establishment in the middle of a very long stretch of beautiful (largely empty) beach and surrounded by lush rainforest. Celmira, Melissa and Milena were very kind and welcoming and were more than happy to guide us to visit the neighboring waterfalls and hot springs. Lovely meals prepared on the spot. Basically unbeatable prices for all of the above. Highly recommended.

This place is a dream. You sleep listening to the ocean from your bed. I stayed from Monday until Thursday, it was quiet at nights. Not so rainy as expected, only one night we got a big storm, otherwise weather was sunny and nice. Staff guys are lovely, kind and friendly, very helpful anytime, and hardworking. There is no power during the night. But not a problem for me. Some bugs can show up on room downstairs, but normal in the jungle. It was very clean

Luzul is a very nice small ecolodge in a beautiful and very wet place; in fact it’s reputed to be the wettest place on the planet with an average of 30 feet of rain per year. But that should not discourage you from going. In the 5 days we spent there it rained every day, but mostly in short duration bursts with plenty of nice weather to do outdoor activities. The place has two cabins each with an upstairs and a downstairs unit. All the units are very open to the surrounding rainforest, but surprisingly, mosquitoes were not a problem. The meals are prepared by a skilled cook using local ingredients and the meals are substantial and delicious. Juancho, the resident manager, speaks some English and is very kind and helpful. He will help you arrange a canoe trip up the nearby river to a swimming hole, and a jungle hike to another swimming hole beneath a waterfall and a deserted beach. A short walk west down the beach is Arusi, a small village with a few stores. A 45 minute walk east will take you to some hot springs, but you can only do the walk at low tide in order to cross a channel. If you go it’s necessary to fly first to Nuquí then take a boat ride that takes about 1.45 hours to Luzul.

Hotel sits on edge of jungle 20 meters above ocean. No walkways are available to walk, Beach is tidal--often under water. When beach is accessible, grey sand is hard as concrete. Very isolated. No bathroom in any rooms. Many broken stairs replaced by uneven placement--thus climbing to room or meals is tricky
