First the weather is perfect.
First the weather is perfect. For summertime travel from hot climates at 8000 feet bogota's clean fresh air is a vacation in itself. As an ex-new yorker.bogota reminded me of a mix of manahattan, brooklyn and queens Multiple choices for international cuisine and the shopping and fashion at the malls and commercial areas like comercial restrepo were outstanding. No need for a car. Just short taxi rides everywhere

Love all the museums and tours we took! We did the national museum, oro, y botero musuem- i dont recommend doing them all in one day if you like to read and truly see everything. As its alot of stuff in each one, but they are truly great! We also booked our tours via GetYourGuide and had absolutely noo issues with any of the tours we took.

I liked the city and getting Ubers worked well, but I would have preferred to stay in the historic centre. Not being able to walk from the centre to where I was staying was a bit annoying. But the hotel was great, staff were great. Area nice but nothing much to do and as a solo traveller I didn't feel able to go out at night due to safety concerns. That was fine, as I'm here to work too, but I love walking around and exploring. I definitely wouldn't have felt safe doing that in Candelaria after dark, so Chapinero was the best bet for me. Bogotá has much to offer: esp. the museums and the street art. I loved the graffiti tour. And the presence of police does help. They told me not to walk from the Monserrate to Candelaria, a route recommended by the Lonely Planet. So, I did feel a bit vulnerable in the centre and clearly one has to be careful 'a no dar papaya'. That said visitors should take the chance to see this great city with suitable precautions.

Nice place to stay if you want to move from one touristic place to another. Big city so you need to be careful after 5:30 pm. However there is a lot of art places, nice museums and good places to do some shopping. Avoid Vicentino and the 7th after 4:00 pmMaricela - Scored 8.08.0

Absolutely loved the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum. Both were outstanding. The National Museum was slightly disappointing on the pre Columbian material after visiting the Gold Museum. Monserrate worth a visit on the hill as the views are spectacular. Try to take the cable car as the funicular was a bit claustrophobic. But tickets in advance. If you walk up or down the hill make sure you have good shoes to walk in It was a good city to walk around. La Candelaria is a nice area and I wish I had time for a walking tour there. The graffiti in Bogota is spectacular and again with more time I would have done another tour. Some of the craft beer is excellent and there is a lot of it. Be careful at dusk and at night especially if alone. You can feel a little isolated at times and there is some aggressive begging . Overall an excellent city to visit for a few days.MichaelUnited Kingdom
