An Continental breakfast is available every morning at the property. dahlandia is eco sustainable village/complex of cabañas owned and run by “el profesor” (a retired university professor/ecologist) and his son Carlos also an ecologist. I spent 3 of my most peaceful days in this enchanting, authentic, unpretentious little piece of paradise in the middle of the Caribbean sea and I truly fell in love with the place, its nature and the local karacol village community..

Hotel in Tintipan Island
Facing the beachfront in Tintipan Island, Hotel Tintipan has a garden and a terrace. The property has room service, a concierge service and organizing tours for guests. We have a very nice stay - we went Monday to Wednesday, the hotel wasn't packed so our vacation felt very private. The hotel provides breakfast, lunch and dinner - the food wasn't mind blowing but was tasty. This hotel (unlike others in the area) had a nice, small sandy beach and is next to a "public" beach that brings in tourists by by boat from around 11am to 3pm. In the afternoon they leave and you can hang out there by yourself.

The hotel is beautiful but it is a little pricey for what they offer. The food at the buffet was delicious but it was too limited. They don’t offer that much variety in the food. They don’t have kids menu so if you are travelling with kids can be challenging. The animation was very poor. The beach was really nice and a lot of space to sit.
Isla Mucura is very small but quite beautiful. The resort is sealed off from the rest of the island but you can exit via a manned gate. The Punta Faro hotel rooms have no keys and they’re proud of the family atmosphere they have, but in order to keep this slice of heaven they keep the rest of the world out. The remainder of the island is rather poor. There was one nice public beach area just outside the gates to the left with a few bars and tourist stores. It was really nice and I’d want to go back. The rest of the island is rather poor, and the town is interesting to visit but you wouldn’t want to stay there.
We stay in bungalow (1) next to sea. The beach in front of the bungalows is very rocky, so basically it is not possible/ or at least dangerous to swim there. When it rains, water flooded over to my bungalow. They tried to fix it by putting some towels to block the water from the door. The room should be equipped with extra comforts such hangers, entre carpet, etc. Avoid going during high season. The hotel is not prepared to host guests when it is fully booked.
Isla Mucura is awesome - clear water, white sand, nice breezes. It is very small - there are no motorized vehicles and you can walk from one end to the other in five minutes. There is a path through mangroves to the public beach which is a nice place to sit and have a drink and swim. There is also a path to the small village on the island which has a small store and a few restaurants, but it is not touristy and can feel a bit like you're gawking at the poverty. But we didn't really need to leave Hotel Club Mucura - all of our food was included, we spent most of our time on their private beach, and they have lots of excursions that we took our toddler on (she did the night plankton tour and snorkeling with us, and they didn't charge us for her). Excellent place for families!
The isle is very small and you’ve got only one public beach not so big.To walk on the island you need to cross several gate and despite it is very small is not well indicated. To eat there are several restaurant in the square open till the afternoon.
I planned my trip to Mucura for months. I was debating whether to choose Rosario islands, Isla Grande or Baru but those places are crowded with tourists. I chose Mucura as I imagined it will be peaceful and picturesque place with baby blue waters - forget about it. Positive side- We did like our snorkeling trip as we saw corals and fish but other than that, I had difficult time to enjoye the island itself. Do yoursefl a favor, if you spend days on the international flights, take some time in Cartagena instead, and before you jump on crazy boat ride to Mucura, think about it twice. Only if you are into rustic, basic place with okay waters and small beach area, then, it's a good fit for you.
