The beautiful view, the green, wild surrounding and the remote location. The owners Sandra and Michael are very nice and welcoming. Sandra even walked down with me to the beautiful stream and backed a self made tasty Pizza.

The cottage itself is well maintained, well equiped and comfortable. Elisa our host was reachable at all times and an absolute wealth of local knowledge. From surrounding flora and fauna, hikes, local eatery recommendations and even weather advice. Elisa really helped us get the most out of our stay.

Freddie and Beryl were very gracious hosts, and we ate some of the best food on our trip in Costa Rica Got to see some unique birds , even though we were not photographer’s, the hummingbirds feeders were wonderful where we spent a lot of time enjoying the flash of colours from these amazing little birds. It is a beautiful place they have here built here with love and passion for Nature and protecting it All the staff were lovely and made our stay extra special. It did get cold in the evenings as being so high up, but everything provided for in the rooms to make it all cosy and a very pleasant stay. Thank you

Great location! I'd stopped here previously to eat, but hadn't realised there was accommodation. The cabins are great: really cozy wooden interiors, well equipped with coffee maker, nice shower and outdoor chairs. We had a fantastic view out over the valley. The cabins are down the hill a bit so you don't heard the highway at all. There's a nice network of trails down by the cabins which proved excellent for birding. And of course, the hummingbird feeders are amazing.

The bungalows are built in a traditional way and surprise at the same time with a modern and very comfortable interior. The Lodge comes with its own huge garden (like a park) full of wonderful flowers and birds and offers a path for the visitor to enjoy the beauty. Lauraceas Lodge offers birdwatching tours and especially one to see the Quetzal with an experienced guide, who is the owner of the lodge. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty and the staff (partly members of the family) is really friendly.

Beautiful location lots of birds. Lovely peicate hiking trails. So many hummingbirds! Road is narrow and very steep so if driving expect to have to pull over for other cars passing and tight turns and steep grade.
