The staff at Onda were excellent and always happy to help if anything is needed. Family breakfast of gallo pinto was excellent every day and a great way to start the day. The room was spacious and clean, perfect for me, my wife and our dog to relax and rest. Overall the room is basic but more than satisfactory for the price and Onda is located just a short walk to Playa Grande

Generally quiet, even next to the highway. We were greeted by the owner's two teenage sons. Clearly managers in training. The kitchen beside the pool was well equipped for our breakfast of cold cereal. There is a hot plate and BBQ which we did not try out. Both beds were pushed against the walls. We were able to move the double bed away from the wall and use the side chair so both sides of the bed could have a bedside table of sorts. Towels are thick, soft.and absorbant. Shower is slow to heat but then warm.

The hotel itself is awesome. Rooms are clean and the foyer area - where breakfast is served every day is quaint and welcoming. Johanna was very nice and helpful, all of her suggestions were perfect; especially surfing, michel is a top notch teacher! The location is close to the beach, and walking distance from town. It’s far enough away that it was very quiet at night, giving a very private feel. Overall, I would highly recommend the Boho!

Everything was excellent, impeccably clean, beautifully decorated with attention to detail! In the room you can find everything a traveller needs (even beach towels etc). The host was super friendly and helpful. The location is awesome as well - nearby the beach (3 minutes) and busy central parts with bars, restaurants etc, but also on a quiet side street, so you don't hear anything. There is a beautiful garden as well.

I was very pleased with my stay at Casa Leona. I was there from November 9-14th 2024. It is about a 15 minute walk or so from the centre of Tamarindo up off the busy main road on a quiet neighbourhood side street the allows you to be in a beautiful green oasis! There were even some Howler Monkeys way up in trees while I was there. The main road to town has no sidewalk and you’ll be walking on the edge of the asphalt as vehicles go around you and your fellow visitors. The room amenities allow you to have meals in to save some money, the rooms are cozy with good AC, I was in a top floor deluxe unit which has a peaked roof the gives a more spacious feel, a large shared covered balcony to hang out on between activities or rain. There is a gazebo with couches to lounge in and a pool as well. Breakfast was excellent with a few choices from a set menu, from a hearty La Tica which is a local breakfast with fruit to lighter fair such as croissants. Most properties here have fences and locked gates and it’s the same at Casa Leona, plus there is a friendly night guard who watches the parking area. The friendly staff work diligently to keep the property clean and tidy. Just a reminder, some rooms have hot water and others do not so make sure to read the room descriptions carefully. I highly recommend Casa Leona for its location, peace and quiet, all the lush greenery that screens you from neighbouring properties, a good breakfast and overall ambiance!

I can’t recommend this property enough. We stayed in the Casita 3 nights and we adored it. We booked the Playa Grande Mangrove Canals Tour with them and it ended up being magical, a little bit pricey but it was a unique experience. All the staff was very friendly to us, I personally had a couple of interesting talks about the area and the country with the owner and enjoyed it a lot. We felt very safe at all times but the outdoor shower can be more private for sure, like there’s not enough natural fencing. I believe having more bushes may reduce the possibility of someone looking at you naked but we really didn’t care. Also, we tried the breakfast for just one day and liked it despite it being very basic and expensive. In conclusion, we loved how beautiful the property is, the bohemian vibe and the casita.
