We liked absolutely everything! It’s a cute little property, in a very quiet location. The owner Spencer was really friendly and helped us book horse riding on the beach. Also Diana, lady that works there behind the bar and reception was the nicest and so so kind and helpful. Always smiling and happy. Other staff were really lovely too, we ate there in the evenings and the food was amazing, so fresh and tasty. The whole vibe of the place was just so nice. We would definitely stay again.

We hade a fantastic experience. The place recently changed ownership and we were lucky enough to be the second guests of the new host Zack. He and the whole staff were absolutely great and accomodating in every aspect. The common kitchen is more tidy and organized than other places. The surf school (not directly affiliated with the hotel for the moment) is 5-10 minutes away walking, directly on the beach. The vibe is very communal, and you can easily find yourself sharing a meal, chats and good times with other people at the hostel as well as with Zack. The pool is a plus. The place has a lot of potential and we really think it will rapidly become a reference for surf house accommodations in Jacò. Highly recommended.

The location and the staff are amazing! This was the place where we felt more the local vibe. It is comfortable though a bit aged, but the staff is so nice that we were really happy there! You just cross the road and have a perfect beach, with a nice peak to surf. The restaurant has wonderful food, very diversified, very tasty and the staff is the best! Really the best! Super friendly, always with a smile! We loved it there!

Beautifully designed small hotel with a lovely pool. Lots of interesting birds and animals around despite it being in the town. You can walk straight out and onto the beach or into Jaco high street for food. Going to miss this place.

Jaco seems nice, the High Street was funky and had a lot of cafes, shops, etc. The downfall is that it isn't very safe. We left our car for 10 minutes to go and get a smoothie, and it was broken into. Everyone I have told the story to says the same thing. Jaco has a reputation for cars getting broken into and things being stolen. It's such a shame the police do nothing, as it could be an easy fix with some cameras.

Jaco has been, in the 30 years going back and forth to Costa Rica and LOVING it, the worst place I have been. Jaco by far the most disappointing. Beach dirty and disgusting, all the people on the beach were scammers. It was extremely upsetting!!! Would NOT recommend.

We stayed here for a night in order to be close to San Jose to fly out. (Common to-do for a lot of folks.) Based on our Wednesday night there, it was quiet. I know that is not the case during the weekend. Lots of food, drink, and shopping options. Lots of night life available from what I hear-- some shady, some not. The beach was okay-- dark sand, small waves. It was not very warm when we went (mid-April), so almost no one was on the beach. I'd stay here again for convenience, but not by choice.

Jaco is a medium size town with a lot of restaurants, bars, and shopping. I would suggest it as a good place to do day tours and fishing charters from, while also having nightlife. The beach has gorgeous sunsets, but the sand is not as nice as other places.

Lots of nice little shops and restaurants but if you are paying with credit cards and not paying attention to the prices, they can become very inflated. Especially for simple things like bottled water and bottles of soda. The people are generally very nice, and we felt very safe and welcomed to this city. Beef, pizza and mix drinks were ok but not nearly as good as in Chicago and a little pricey. Really enjoyed some of the night clubs but others seemed uninviting, could have been the nights that we were there.

I go there to do dental work at Crystal Dental, as their prices are 2-3 times cheaper than in the USA and the quality is better, they speak English and have German equipment. I do not care about touristy stuff, I did it on my first visit many years ago. You can take buses for daytrips. Tours with agencies are very expensive and geared for young athletic people. I wish there was a sightseeing tour for the whole day on a bus to take pictures without any hiking or horse-riding.

While we enjoyed traveling the streets of Jaco, I think we could have simply stayed at Selina Jaco all day and been content. The rooms are small but efficient, the pool is right on the beach, there's a bar for beverages and a menu for meals/snacks. You literally step off the hotel property right onto the beach! The hotel has a light and funky hostel/hotel feel with couples, families and solo travelers all staying there. We took free salsa classes and rented beach bikes for just $10 a day. WE LOVED OUR STAY!

We had probably the best room in the place, overlooking the beach on the 1st floor, 2 balconies. Therefore it was perfect, great staff….really friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast, fab cocktails in happy hours and a perfect place to relax. We didn’t go to Jaco as intended, there was no need to leave the hotel with its pool and beach.
