The owner is a very kind and informative gentleman . He speaks perfect English. He sets an example of excellence for his staff. And they, the staff, follow his example very well, they were excellent, too. The room was nicely appointed with a great view, especially of the city lights at night. The king-size bed was very comfortable. Although, for its mountaun location and elevation, an extra blanket would have been welcomed for the cool nightly temperatures. We enjoyed a nice, quiet, and relaxing evening sitting in the outside dining area just before going to bed. We drove in from Panama and continued our drive to the San Jose, Purisil area the next day. Breakfast is complimentary. My wife and I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The seafood soup and rice deserve recognition as the best we've tasted!

Dinner was delightful a beautiful setting next to what I think is the Fig tree the the hotel is named after. A nice quiet eating space, families , couples and an attentive and friendly staff. The cabinas are located away from the city in a peaceful, quiet rural area that was blissful...full of exotic birds, magnificent rolling green hills, and the quiet was interrupted only by the sound of a mooing cow now and then. Bliss. Breakfast was delicious, prepared by a smiling Maria. I would definitely return to this lovely place!

Super clean. Very nice. Lots of bedrooms I didn’t even need but plenty of space for a family. shower was warm. Water to drink was clean. Peaceful place. Chickens and ducks and cows outside in the neighborhood. Nice breeze through the property.

The Host is very nice. He gave me a ride into town when I first arrived to show me where restaurants, stores, the border crossing, etc. are located. This made it easier for me to walk there later, about 1 km. When I departed, he also gave me a ride to the Costa Rican immigration offices for me to get the exit stamp on my passport before exiting through Panama immigration at the border. This saved me having to lug my suitcase around. The property is beautiful, safe, quiet, and well-equipped. The AC worked well. Excellent WiFi and TV with free Netflix. There is hot water in the shower (most Paso Canoas Airbnbs do not have hot water!). The stone and tile work on the floors and walls are incredible. This could easily be the best Airbnb in Paso Canoas.
