Offering a restaurant, Pensaò Big Game Maio is located in Vila do Maio. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning, a balcony and a terrace. There is also a refrigerator. We visited 3 hotels in Maio. We chose Big Game for the reviews it had. We were a bit disappointed though cause the others were a better value for money. Although, need to say: - rooms are clean - breakfast is very good, especially if you like homemade pastries and good coffee - very good wifi connection
Offering a year-round outdoor pool and water sports facilities, Maio Vacanze is set in Vila do Maio in the Maio Region, 25 mi from Praia. Free WiFi is offered . Excellent stay on Maio island! Very beautiful and peaceful place. The stella Maris village was great and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I will definitely consider them for any future trips to Maio. Thank you!
Set on the beachfront in Vila do Maio, CasaEvora features a terrace. Boasting a shared lounge, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. This hotel is very nice. I stayed in the Cesária suite which was lovely. My friend stayed in a first floor room which was also very nice. Breakfast was always fresh and the ladies in the kitchen are very sweet. All the staff, including the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The internet worked throughout our stay, although a bit slow, but this is true in much of Cabo Verde.
"LE CONCHIGLIE" Apartments Fabeli Host features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Vila do Maio. Highly recommended. Very clean place where you have everything you need. Owners are always ready to help in no time. Also, location is perfect for those who want to enjoy long walks by the quite beaches. The place is also very close to the grocery shop. If you are in Maio, this place is a must 🍸
Beautiful island! Not so many things to do, but very relaxing. Recommend to rent a car to go visit the furthest parts of the islands, magnificent dunes, sal flats and beaches!! By the way, one of the main fishing islands with fresh fish coming everyday (unlike Santiago) and cheapest lobster in the country!
I loved everything about Maio. If you are looking for a beautiful island where you can relax, experience the local life and explore so you can come across some hidden gems like the most magical beaches: this is the place! If you are looking for something touristic with lots of shops and restaurants and if you want to go out at night, this might not be the place for you. I never wanted to leave... ;-)
as mentioned there aren't many things to do in Maio. it's a place to relax enjoying the simple things. you do not have many restaurants, you have 2 bars in the main beach (the others arount the island do not have any facilities) you will find small grocery stores and the market (fresh vegetables only when the boat cames). you can visit the salinas, church, and rent a car to go around (about 2h to see the island). we used to eat in a small traditional place next to the church (Natalia), the food is really good cooked or in the beach bars (Tropikal is more "european" you can order a pizza and the other one more traditional with cape verdian food) you have the hotel restaurant (mainly italian food at least was what we saw when passing by) or tutti frutti (italian restaurant) for breakfast we went to jardim do maio every day.
Still a quiet village, with the warmth only cape verdians have. The beach and surrounding beaches are great, would absolutely recommend a tour around the island for some nice sightseeing and a dive in the ocean, at deserted beaches.
