Our small, Family guest house is located in the center of the charming historical town of Domažlice, south-west of Plzen and only 9.3 mi away from the German border. Centrally located hotel very close to the central square and the bus stop. Our apartment was quite big, silent, the bed comfy, nothing to complain about. Very friendly owner.
Small historic town close to the Bavarian border, in the centre of the Chod region. Main square is a gem with very old houses. Must climb up the tower for a magnificient view. Look for Pivnice Koutske pivo, the best pub in town with great beer from a nearby microbrewery (Kout). (No food, though...)
It's the heartland of a very traditional part of Czech - Love the old town & the food (sweet: "chodsky kolac" at the bakeries). Fun cycling from there thru the rolling country side & stopping for beers along the way in places like: Klenci; Tlumacov; Ujezd
In Czechia there are many small towns worth a visit, usually with an interesting historical background and some old buildings, Domazlice is one of them. Maybe not as impressive as, say, neighbouring Klatovy, but with a nice atmosphere. Worth visiting for a couple of days.
Very comfortable, medium sized town with tourist amenities but not a lot of tourists. Very picturesque. Easy train ride from Prague, Munich or Regensburg. Easy rental of good touring bicycles at the train station and nice bike paths/country roads for biking the Cesky Les nature area.
Beautiful old town square but not much else. (or maybe just the information did not reach me) Of course in Czech you can always go for an excellent beer in one of the local pubs and just enjoy being there.
