Awesome position if you want to walk through the Prachov rocks, you can get there by foot. There is a restaurant in the hotel, so it's convenient because you don't have any other option around. The room was ok for one night but earplugs are strongly suggested.

The hotel is situated close to the main square. In order to check-in you need to visit a different hotel first and you get your keys afterwards. Also if you want to have breakfast, you need to attend the other hotel.

The hosts were very friendly and offered a lot of information. They were very helpful with our quiries. The bathroom was really great with ample space and the floor was heated too. The heating in the room was great too. The place is very comfortable and the location is right, smack within the area of the town square. The owners run a cafe downstairs that offers a variety of delicious cakes. We loved our stay there!
Occupying a palace-style building in the Bohemian Paradise Nature Reserve, the family-run Hotel pod Šikmou Věží is only a 10-minute walk away from the Prachovské Rocks.

Beautifully located in the historical town center of Jičín next to Valdice Tower and close to Wallenstein Square, Hotel Paříž offers comfortable and rustically decorated accommodations.
Hotel leży w centrum. Pokoje są duże. Śniadania dobre.
Small town with a few interesting places to see. But nothing much in comparison with other bigger cities.
The town is located near Prachov rocks (about 40 minutes away), which is the reason why I chose to stay there.
Overall, the town is worth a day of visit. More time could be spent in Prachov rocks and the castles/palaces nearby.

Jicin is most charming by night, when it is quiet and romantic. The huge number of cars parking in the main old town square is a problem in all Czech towns. Don't expect to do any shopping after 5 pm unless you have a car to drive to a big market outside the town centre. There are rather few places to eat anything other than pizza or kebab (the sports hall halfway to Wallenstein lodge had a good though not cheap restaurant). For such a small town, the historical architecture is really impressive, but what we loved most was the walk in the wild forest park behind the Wallenstein lodge 2km from the centre down the unique linden alley and to the Jewish cemetery near the lodge. There's also a v. interesting Jewish cultural centre in Židovská 100 (dedicated to Jewish writers of the German language). To visit these places inside, you need to call them in advance.

This is a nice town.
This is a nice town. The reason we traveled here was so that we could explore the Cesky Raj park and have a nice hotel and restaurants for the evenings. It was easy to walk from the bus or train station to the main square. We would suggest traveling by bus from Praha instead of the train as we did because the bus trip is shorter. And it was easy to take a train or taxi to the parts of the park which we wanted to explore.
There were several choices of restaurants and there was even a local market on the town square on Saturday. I wished that we had had more time to explore the city. The people we met in the restaurants were friendly and our hotel was amazing.
Just be aware that we were off season and that most of the castles in the Czech Republic are closed starting Nov. 1 until spring. We were able to see some of the castles from the distance, but not able to explore them closer or tour them during our stay.

There are lots of little museums here, the square is nice and the town has a nice relaxing atmosphere. There are some nice sights a bit outside of town, including amazing nature so Jicin is nice to stay for a few days to go hiking through the sandstone rock formations of Bohemian Paradise.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful medieval and natural sights around Jicin and in the city itself. Having friends made the visit very personal. We toured the Hrad Trosky, the Prachov Rocks in the autumn leaves, the Valdicka Clock, Palace Park, Linden Alley, Fair Dragon, and Loggia! It's worth at least two days of touring without hordes of tourists!
Mixed feeling about this hotel.
First of all this is definitely one interesting place to stay in.
Room is clean and shower is good,
However the small garden lacks cleaning, lots of spiderweb around and there's a very strong smell inside the building.
From outside the gate it looks like an abandon place, if you don't mind that then there's no issue at all inside the building.
