Bad Frankenhausen was very beautiful.

Bad Frankenhausen was very beautiful. The hike up the Kyffhäuser was strenuous, but the view made it all worthwhile. We particularly enjoyed Memleben Monastery and the Nebra Sky Disc. We were disappointed by the town of Querfurt.

Artern isn't really worth a visit.

Artern isn't really worth a visit. We were only there because my mother lives in a nursing home there (less than 500 meters from the hotel). As an excursion, we highly recommend the Kyffhäuser Monument near Bad Frankenhausen. We arrived just before noon and were able to take part in a FREE, very interesting guided tour. It was really lovely.

A walking tour of the village includes the old factory...

A walking tour of the village includes the old factory grounds, the old vineyard, the cemetery with its brine spring, and the saltworks park. It's also very well located for excursions in the Kyffhäuser region (monument, castle, and Barbarossa Cave) and northern Thuringia.

Small village with several disused old factory buildings.

Small village with several disused old factory buildings. Beautifully situated on the river with its own saltwater swimming pool. Charming place, somewhat deserted in the evenings. Restaurants are available, but note that there is a kitchen closing time.

The room was very appealing.

The room was very appealing. Soundproof windows facing the street, blackout curtains, and a modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the room was inviting and relaxing. Breakfast was ample, with a wide selection, including sausage from their own butcher shop – very tasty. The service was friendly, and the staff was very welcoming. This made our short break even more relaxing.

Extremely courteous and hard-working staff. Even though we arrived after the official closing time for reception - there was no problem at all. Very clean room and the whole hotel. Good offer in the restaurant and a very tasty and varied breakfast.

Breakfast good, restaurant excellent. Knowledgeable staff. My husband left his gilet behind, but after contacting the hotel they arranged for it yo be delivered to friends in Germany for us to collect. Thank you.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. We like the ambiance, the comfortable beds and the view of the valley. We enjoyed the terrace for evening ice cream.
