Excellent new'ish hotel bit remotely out of Göttingen in some sort of hill area Nikolausberg. Everything was magnificent, price was very affordable for such quality, breakfast was excellent, parking was really nice and staff was helpful and the room was modern and bed and pillow were super comfy. Got a great nights sleep, cannot but recommend! Restaurant Kluckluck (?) also super good for dinner.

We love staying at Freigeist Göttingen because they go above and beyond for their customers. We have stayed here multiple times and it has been great. On this stay however, they pulled out all the stops for our fur babies. We booked in advance and let them know we were bringing two dogs with us again. (Yes, you do pay extra for the dogs.) When we entered our room, we saw two comfy, huge dog beds, two food bowls, two water bowls, and lots of prepackaged treats for them. It meant so much to us! Plus we were on the first floor which helped us so much as one of our dogs is blind and it’s easier to navigate with him. On top of all that, the welcome glass of wine is divine and so welcome after traveling for so long. We highly recommend the clean, comfortable rooms, the fabulous food, welcoming staff, and the location is next to the train station. Perfect!

The hotel was great value, with free parking included. Breakfast was also included in the deal and was excellent. The pool was most welcome because of the heatwave. It was a little cool but that was no problem. It is 3.5 to 4 kilometers outside the centre but there appeared to be plenty of parking in town, although we walked there and back, no problem.
