The Hotel Villa Altenburg is located in an idyllic part of Germany, with beautiful surroundings. The building retains a lot of original features, which gives great ambience. The rooms are charming, the decor is authentic in this beautifully restored villa. Excellent breakfast with many choices and imaginative options. Excellent location, very peaceful and surrounded by parkland. Loved the high ceilings and the grand feeling of space. On the day (Tues) I stayed the restaurant was not open for an evening meal but there are nearby restaurants about 5km away.

The location was great for us. Vaulted ceilings and insides were great overall with everything we needed being present. There is a barbeque area and the hosts did prepare everything needed for it to our arrival. They have also left some drinks for us which was extremely sweet as we've arrived quite late tired and thirsty. In short it is an amazing place to stay. I would return there whenever possible
