Also not to be missed is Brühl Terrace, a promenade nicknamed the 'Balcony of Europe', because of its excellent view of the River Elbe.
Enjoy a relaxing stroll around the city and you will find a selection of cosy Dresden restaurants and beer gardens serving local dishes and fine wines from the surrounding vineyards. Dresden Airport is the international airport located in the district of Klotzsche, featuring a railway station in the terminal building. The old part of Dresden is fascinating, combining some genuinely old buildings with some which were cleverly re-built after the destruction of WWII. The so-called ‘new town’ (Neustadt) north of the River Elbe suffered less damage in the War, but has been thoroughly defaced by graffiti, even on some historic ‘jugendstil’ (or Art Nouveau) buildings (as in the photos). This is simply vandalism.

LOTS TO SEE. UNFORTUNATELY IT RAINED DURING OUR STAY AND WEATHER MAKES A LOT OF DIFFERENCE. THE CITY IS WORTH A VISIT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO SEE IT PROPERLY.

Dresden really impressed me.
Dresden really impressed me. The city has an incredibly pleasant atmosphere — historic, aesthetic, and at the same time very cozy. The beautiful buildings, architecture, and Old Town make you want to simply wander around without rushing and take everything in.
To me, Dresden somehow combines the atmosphere of Italy and Prague in a very special way. I especially loved how history, art, and modern life come together here. Dresden has its own unique character and charm. I would definitely love to come back. ❤️

Wonderful city with historical and modern facets. Excellent public transport system. Friendly atmosphere. Plenty to see. Excellent restaurants- plenty for vegans.
Vcake is great for leasurely breakfasts and the cake selection is also amazing. Tanteleuk, Wilma Wunder and Scheunen Cafe all serve superb vegan dishes.
The Neustadt has many interesting small boutiques and shops with original handicrafts. There‘s even a vegan butcher! We went on a private tour of the Neustadt with Fraulein Kerstin- check out her website… It’s really worth it.

It seems very safe. You can just feel it.

I had no issues walking back to the hotel in the dark.
If you have mobility issues the cobblestones in the Altstadt might be tricky, but if you stay on the perimeter you can avoid most of them.
There are lots of things to do in Dresden - you can take a boat on the Elbe to Meissen and see how the porcelain dishes are made, go to the opera, walk around to look at the architecture, spend time in one of the two main squares in the Altstadt listening to music and wandering around the markets, and enjoy the German food.
Public transportation is very good - trams and buses. The wait is usually not long.

We didn’t stay in Dresden itself but I was there some years ago oh, that Green Room! The Marienkirch had just been reconsecrated and we went to a service. All v emotional as my grandmother was a Dresdner.

The room was very comfortable. The facilities such as the shower and bathroom were great. The free minibar was a nice bonus. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of options. The earlier you get there, the better, especially if the hotel is busy. The Hotel is in the centre of old town Dresden so a lot of attractions are within walking distance.

Superb location- easy tram ride from Dresden train station. Tram stops right opposite the hotel.
10 minute walk from the hotel leads you to all the top sights in Dresden Old Town
Room is the standard Premier Inn size but quite comfortable and clean.
Check in and check out were quick and easy. Extra bed was set up in the room on check-in

The location of this hotel is perfect. Dresden is a beautiful city and the hotel is located in the heart of the old town. The reception staff were helpful and welcoming. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and great omelettes. The spa area was lovely but the opening hours are limited, so do check. The bar area was nice.

The hotel is in a great location,in front of it there are differents trams which head to the old town. The room was really big,the breakfast delicious with a very large choice of food. I can only recommend to stay in this hotel if you are visiting Dresden.
