Located next to Gotha Ost Train Station, this guest house offers light, modern rooms. There were extra facilities available that were very useful (a kitchen with a fridge, cutleries, pots and pans; a large breakfast room). The room itself had a large closet with plenty of space, a table and chair that I used regularly and a TV that I never turned on but I'm sure other people will appreciate.

The museum was a glorious small collection of wonderful pieces displayed beautifully in spacious well appointed rooms. It deserves a longer visit. It was a delightful surprise to find such well known artists represented I wish we had had time to visit the castle too.
the only problem i had was the receptionist, not all of them but there was one lady who is i think need some more training regarding how to talk with a guest, she should know how to handle a guest in any situation because she represent the hotel..this is a very small problem i had but all in all we are happy staying in Hotel Lindenhof...
- The city has the feeling of having fallen on hard times, with lots of derelict properties, few hotels and even fewer restaurants. - The train station (unusually for Germany) is especially desperate, and offers NO luggage storage facilities. - Beware that some of the sites (and the tourist office) close early, even on holidays and weekends. - The museums (especially the Herogliches museum) are well worth the visit, but the churches are often closed.
The receptionist waited for us especially as we were late and took the time to explain everything despite that. She made excellent recommendations for a restaurant. There were fresh garden apples to take with us. Big, comfortable bed, big shower room. All impeccably clean. Great views from our own balcony over old town. Free water bottles in the room, good soap etc.
