What an excellent place! Perfect location in nature but close to the nearby attractions. This place is beyond peaceful. Cozy, clean room with an excellent shower. Food and drinks were delicious, especially the homemade schnapps. The property was beautiful, we took a little walk up on the hill and saw the view of the charming valley. The staff was so kind and made you feel like home. They even shared their schnapps making with us, And they had friendly cats too!

Gutach is a great base for exploring the Black Forest.
Gutach is a great base for exploring the Black Forest. The scenery is great, and the distances to better known towns is not great. The open air museum was much more than I expected, tho the tourist gauntlet to get to the front gate is a bit much. The KONUS card is a great benefit. Free train rides and discounts to the best attractions. Be sure to eat at the Rathskeller in Hausach

Gutach is a place "on the way to" that actually has much more to offer as a base from which to explore the Black Forest. Places on the main road suffer from traffic noise, places on the side roads are much more relaxed and quiet, restful homely. If you want to party stay in a town although a small group can have fun here.
