breakfast was simple but they made up for it by offering the eggs ala carte, so my scrambled eggs were perfect. The coffee machine had fresh milk steamer. The bedrooms were large and the shower the biggest I have ever seen in a hotel. Very quiet outside, probably because it's just outside the city center, where we walked to in less than 10 minutes.

I should have planned less time only because I had been ill...

I should have planned less time only because I had been ill the week before. We saw the Dom although we did not see the fantastic treasury this time. Lovely Museums and some fantastic architecture. If by car there aare some fascinating museums dedicated to the now deceased DDR, castles and world heritage sites like Wernigerode and Quedlingburg. Driving through the ,mountains as they just start to change colour for autumn was spectacular as well

A wonderful city with a famous past and unfortunately...

A wonderful city with a famous past and unfortunately extensive destructions by bombing in April 1945, shortly before the war ended. The cathedrals, the museums and some of the carefully restored houses are very impressive.

I came to Halberstadt on a Thursday, arriving in the evening...

I came to Halberstadt on a Thursday, arriving in the evening, and left the next morning, staying at Hotel Sankt Florian near the Domplatz. That part of town was about dead at 8:30 PM when I checked in. Thank goodness, I picked up some chop suey at a China-Thai Imbiss on Magdeburg Strasse while walking to the hotel from the Bahnhof. The Domplatz and churches were lovely that evening. The next morning, two of the three major churches never opened, and I skipped the Cathedral because they wanted money to enter. I don't pay to enter houses of God. On the way back to the Bahnhof, I located the Tourist Information office and found it well and willingly tended. I walked to the Bahnhof, just to kill time before my train departed, although the Number 1 tram was easily available. I had a pleasant time in Halberstadt, saw enough of it to remember, but have no reason to return.

This place is excellent for the price! Clean and comfortable room, excellent shower, really nicely decorated throughout. Friendly staff. I was able to park my motorcycle right outside the entrance. 15 minute walk to the centre of Halberstadt. Close to Kaufland supermarket. Breakfast included, usual German style breakfast, cereal, meat, eggs. I can recommend AnCaLi Burgercafe for a meal in the evening, excellent burgers.

The hotel occupies a historical building with a very special flair. The wellness area is decent. Having a private brewery onsite is certainly a plus, the beer was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, although most of them wouldn’t speak English. On the other hand, that’s definitely far from a 4-star hotel standard, so don’t expect much from the place

Lovely traditional hotel with friendly staff. Parking is a bonus with everything within easy walking distance. John Cage project 10 mins, Halberstadt is a wonderful historic place. Make sure you know it's history to appreciate it more.
