United KingdomExcellent location on the main railway line with easy access to Jena and on to Weimar and Erfurt. The snack bar on the platform acts as reception and the welcome is friendly and helpful. Parking was easy with a voucher from the hotel to display. The room was bright, well furnished and comfortable. Almost no sound came through from the trains. A particular feature of the hotel was the excellent breakfast. So wonderfully prepared and so healthy.

This is my second visit to the beautiful city Jena of Germany. I wish to come again and spend beautiful time again here. Very quiet, calm, relaxing, worth exploring the different sites and locations, weather, multiple grocery shop, fresh fruits like cherries, strawberries were simply amazing.

Our daughter lives in Jena with her young family.
Our daughter lives in Jena with her young family. This unit is not as convenient to her as others we have used but was one of the biggest and had a full common kitchen to use. We have not seen too much of Jena except the old city and the Bergau Park Mall. Both are nice and different than in the States. Would like to see the Planetarium or go to the top of the Jen tower. We found the bedroom cold in December when we arrived and the common areas cold all the time. There is a large common-use dining table but it is so cold in the area you wouldn't want to sit out there. Nice quiet area but very limited, unreserved parking. We had to park about 5 blocks away and walk back. There is a very complete grocery store called Netto just across the street that had fresh baked croissants in the morning. That was great!

Not a well known travel destination, but with family here I was able to experience a German city without a large tourist influence. It was an enjoyable visit with plenty to do over a week’s stay. Transportation always available and easy. I found the people very friendly. There were many excellent bakeries and coffee shops.

Jena is a very nice town and lively because of all the students. Lots of various restaurants, cafes and pubs. People are friendly and helpful but it helps to speak German. Do not assume you will get around everywhere with only English.

Gorgeous small university city, intimate with walking...
Gorgeous small university city, intimate with walking distance to the mountains, center tower with city view offered. Very quiet getaway. Most locals are patient with a little to zero German speaking English native speaker. Dare I say is a nice place to honeymoon

Betweeen 30-35 minutes walk from the station but a bus service to the hotel is availble. About 15 to 20 minutes walk to the Altstadt centre but bus and tram stops are close by
Friendly efficient service at check-in. Request for additional pillows quickly fulfilled.
Bright, modern, good sized room and bathroom with good storage space in both.
Easy to access shower with good controls and excellent pressure (the pressure may have been due to the room being on the ground floor).
Very good breakfast with good choice of items.

Fantastic location if you are looking to visit Jena. You can get pretty much anywhere by foot, shops and restaurants are all close by – and public transport opportunities on your doorstep as well… A multi-storey car park is around the corner too.
We loved the comfort of the well-equipped flat, perfect for our needs with kids. The hosts were super friendly. Much easier for us than taking a hotel room as originally intended. We can only recommend the apartment and will be back.

Super comfortable room! Warm, spacious and clean. Possibly the best position for a Hotel in Jena: between the train station and the city centre.

The gasthaus is good for shortstay in Jena, accomodation was good. It is not as expensive as other accomodations in the region. The shared kitchen was good and the reception was also very nice and spoke english.
