The friendliness of the staff, especially Lauren and Marcel (Mr. Fika) and the housekeeping staff; the cleanliness, and the location, make this place. As does the openness to welcoming artists and artwork and hosting cultural events and new art exhibits.

The location is excellent. I first thought that the remote setting might be a disadvantage for travellers without a car, but I was wrong! The hotel is perfectly connected to Kaiserslautern Central Station (by foot 20-30 minutes) by E-Scooter (TIER) and sharing Bikes, it takes about 10 minutes and costs less than 5€ to get to the hotel.
The restaurant (Biergarten) has a big variety of excellent German cuisine and also surprisingly many vegan options! The prices are low if you compare it to similar restaurants in German cities.
Because of the remote location you will enjoy a peaceful sleep.
The area is great for a walk in the nature. By a 30 minute footwalk you can reach the Humbergtower which offers an amazing view over the landscape and the city of Kaiserslautern.
If travelling with kids: There are two large playgrounds in the area (one directly in the restaurant and one in the forest about 5 minutes away).
There are plenty of parking options directly next to the building.
The breakfast offers a good self-service buffet. There´s everything you need. Nothing special to mention here.
There is a 24/7 staff available in the building.
Although booking.com mentions "Fitness" in facilities, there are no such options in the hotel. Maybe they mean the great options to run or hike in the beautiful nature.

Everything was excellent except for the parking. And that was just pain that we had to do street parking because the parking lot was tiny.

There was hot water in the shower. At least. The place was quiet. There was an open parking area. The rest was very negative.

We loved the included breakfast.

The town is beautiful, walkable, safe - with many fascinating shops, restaurants and outdoor cafes, public parks, delicious bakeries, and some impressive things for tourists to visit - two museums each of which was excellent (one had a touring exhibit of an internationally famous modern artist, the other is a local history museum which is fascinating), the Japanese garden, the synagogue memorial - which was beautifully thought out, understated, and sensitive - and because Kaiserslautern is so close to Ramstein, everyone in the shops and restaurants speaks English and they understand, and are kind to, confused American tourists! Everyone I met was courteous, helpful, friendly. Do not miss: the two museums, the synagogue memorial (very thoughtful, sensitive, and thought provoking), the beautiful churches, etc.

the Hotel has no AC.
the Hotel has no AC. It was one of the worst experiences of my vacation. For a hotel that size, location, name recognition and star rating this hotel needs AC so customers can enjoy their stays during summer time there.

Late booking, more as a stopover, as all other more touristy cities hadn’t the number of reservations we required for our party.
Nothing really to see as a tourist but nice restaurants and pedestrian areas to enjoy a coffee or beer.

Kaiserslautern, in the heart of Palatinate ("Pfalz"), as well as the whole region is a very nice area. Very green, beautiful nature, nice people and because of thousands of US troops in this community, almost everywhere you can speak English and you'll be understood. No big cities nearby, if you want that, you gotta drive around 60km.
Hotel was a bit out of the way but was only for an overnight stay on our travels so was perfect. Ample parking and the room was very generous in size, although in an outbuilding away from the main part of the hotel, which wouldn't be so great if the weather was bad. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, not the cheapest but the food was good. There was some kind of conference going on when we were there so it was quite busy. Breakfast was good quality.
Easy check in, hotel close by city center. Be aware the hotel is based on the mountain next to the city. We booked this for staying the night after a game of FcK, which made it perfect.
