The location is central to the town of Ludwigslust, by a quieter road by the canal, between the town centre, and the Castle Park. There is convenient safe parking on site. The hotel is family run, to exceptionally high standards, and with friendly and courteous staff who are always ready to assist. The Library is a very pleasant place to sit, have a glass of wine, or eat. Pricing is reasonable, particularly when you consider the quality of the food, and we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel on each day of our stay. Both were of a very high standard, and the dinner menu, using much local produce, was outstanding. The wines were well chosen. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation if you are visiting the Ludwigslust - Parchim - Schwerin area.

The renovations that they have made to the Duke's Palace are absolutely amazing. They are turning it into a world class museum. In addition to gorgeous concerts that are held in the Church where you can see one of the largest Altar murals cloaking the organ. Both sites are well worth seeing as well as more somber memorials nearby like Woebelin. The town of Glaisin is also worth a stop. They also have a very reliable information office in the center of town where you can find maps and brochures on everything going on in the surrounding area as well as Ludwigslust. (Don't miss picking up a jar of Ludwigslust Honey - absolutely delicious! There are several tasty bakeries and lots of options for quick and affordable food too. The Hotel de Weimar has a traditional dinner menu that is home cooking at it's best. It is a truly beautiful Baroque town with original buildings everywhere, you feel like you have wandered onto a movie set. That's another thing you can do - there is a lovely little film house in walking distance from the Erbprinz hotel, a wonderful place to stay. And it is not far from Schwerin either - another must see stop. I have gone back several times and am always delighted at the pace and the welcoming feeling you get there. When you need a break you can take a shady walk through the Schlosspark gardens and have cake and coffee in the Cafe after you tour the palace. The Aperol Spritz is great! Highly recommend!

Ludwigslust was a surprise.

Ludwigslust was a surprise. From an architectural perspective it was built as a luxurious hunting lodge in the eighteenth century supported by a cavalry garrison, with many buildings in a Neo Classical style and broad pleasant streets. The Schloss itself, and its surrounding gardens is well worth visiting, internally and externally. There are high quality shops. We did not try any local restaurants as the food in our hotel was so good. Asparagus seems to be a speciality and is delicious. Once the railway upgrading (June 26) is complete there will be a fast convenient service to and from both Hamburg and Berlin. Schwerin and Parchim are close by, and also interesting places to visit. In Parchim, we would recommend the Kaiserliche Post Amt (which is a brewery) as a place to eat, though the Station Buffet is a pleasant and convenient spot for a coffee in a quirky way. The station is all original, little altered, and quite a little Jugendstil gem. Schwerin is much bigger, and though it has a fairytale castle, the interior is rather bare, with a large section taken up by the Landtag (local Parliament) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Politicians may be a necessary evil, but we would prefer them to clear out of the historic monuments which visitors come to see.

A hidden pearl in a small town. Best hotel we have been at in this price range. Really cozy inside and nice town to walk around in. The resultant was also good and they’re going to information regarding how look the restaurant was open. Free parking by the way and everything was easy to find. Trip from DK to Germany we found to long so this was perfect and they was in Berlin in early morning.

The place in general is nice, although it does not seem like a four-stars hotel. The waiter at the restaurant has been very polite and competent.
