We loved the area.
We loved the area. Lanstuhl Castle our favorite with trails to walk, met interesting people, great view, touring the Castle, and their restaurant was lovely, good service, and had great food. We went to the castle twice. Hot Apple studrel with vanilla ice cream 1st day and a meal for the 2nd day. Delicious. We also went to Kusel and Queidersbach.AAnonymous - Scored 1010
I like the area, I've been here before and will go back.
I like the area, I've been here before and will go back. I like going to the Rhine, and sitting there looking at the ships going up and down. I'm going to be trying to go back in December so I can visit the Christmas markets, Ramstein is a good place to start trips to places like Saarbrucken and Heidelberg.

My only real complaint was the weather.
My only real complaint was the weather. Most of the time I was here, 3rd week of May, it was cloudy and rainier and colder than I expected. The people are friendly and it was easy to get around by train from Ramstein Village. I've been here many times before, and want to come back.MichaelUnited States of America - Scored 1010

I went to the Ramstein area to do Christmas shopping and do some exploring. I like the area and have been there before and want to go back. I went by train from Ramstein to the Rhine River at St Goar and did some shopping, crossed the Rhine on the ferry to St Goarhausen where I had an excellent meal at a restaurant that overlooks the Rhine and all its varied traffic. I rode the train to Saarbrucken to go to the Christmas Market and had a good time. Getting around by train is pretty easy, but make sure you can read enough German to understand train schedules and changes to time, platforms and tracks. The weather during my visit was cold, cloudy and rainy, but that is typical weather for Germany in the winter and early spring.MichaelUnited States of America
