Wonderful city, very clean and quiet with superb architecture all around. Transport links excellent with trains to Karlsruhe and direct buses to Baden Baden Airport, probably one of the nicest cities i've ever visited in Germany and i've been to a lot !

We primarily went for a concert on the castle estate.
We primarily went for a concert on the castle estate. So our location was perfect for that. There are a few things one can do in Rastatt including eating out in some nice restaurants. The city is also nicely located to visit the area, Karlsruhe or head across to Strasbourg.

Great little town where I spent 3 years in my youth.
Great little town where I spent 3 years in my youth. Not much has changed. Relaxing place to stay. Hotel clerk was quite helpful. Parking is almost non-existant, but we found one just outside our hotel. Luck.

On our way back home from Las Palmas, through Kassel-Baden (...
On our way back home from Las Palmas, through Kassel-Baden (FKB) airport to Erfurt this hotel seemed a nice place to rest a few days. Also the price/value rate in order. A very good breakfast in a nostalgic Italian diner. If they could restore the real Italian cuisine at supper, this gem would be shining at full intensity!! Although a bus stop is in front, getting around with a car is a lot more comfortable and time-efficient. Private parking is not available, publicparking approx max 2 blocks away. Safe neighborhood. A lot of sightseeing possibilities: the river Rhine, Kassel, Baden Baden with its famous ''James Bond'' casino.

The city is interesting but you can easily see all the important sights in one day. The best thing about the city is its location since you can very quickly reach any of the bigger cities in a reasonable amount of time by public transport

Definitely visit Schloss Rastatt.
Definitely visit Schloss Rastatt. We had a private tour with a very good, knowledgeable guide. Schloss Rastatt Favorite is also a must see. You could use Rastatt as a base to explore the surrounding area...Baden-Baden, Schwarzwald etc. We had a great meal at Lehners Wirtshaus. Reasonably priced, delicious German food and beer. We sat outside under the trees overlooking the Schlossgarten. Lovely!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Astra Rastatt. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming and went out of their way to make our breakfast special. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome. The family room with adjoining but separate bedrooms was perfect for our family with teenagers, giving us both privacy and the convenience of being together. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and quiet. It was an excellent stopover on our journey, and we would happily stay here again.

Train station and Bus station for Karslruhe airport just a few meters away; sixt (rent a car) agency just across the hotel;
Good breakfast, a lot of fruits and variety of vegetables, jams;

Location is ~10minutes walk from center and a few minutes from stores and restaurants. Parking outside of the hotel is relatively easy and costless between 6pm and 8am I believe and low rate for up to 3h in between. Rooms were fine and clean

Staff were very attentive and friendly and the breakfast was very nice. Also parking was available right outside Hotel but there were limited spaces which filled up quickly. Felt like a safe enough neighbourhood too.
