Europa Park Thrills and Black Forest Hills
Set between the Rhine River and the Black Forest, Rust is a small German town that is best known for its huge Europa Park. The largest theme park in Germany, it only comes second behind Disneyland Paris as Europe’s most popular amusement park.
The park’s 16 themed zones contain a variety of high-adrenaline rides as well as attractions better suited to younger children. There are also shows, a 4D cinema and various eating establishments all over the complex.
In addition to the elaborately designed hotels within Europa Park, Booking.com has a fantastic range of Rust accommodation including hotels with outdoor pools, apartments with parking, and cheap guest houses.
However, this is of course not the only reason to visit. The Baden-Württemberg region offers some wonderful cycling routes, and the hills to the east of Rust are also popular for hiking.
The town is located less than 1 hour’s drive from the Black Forest spa resort of Baden-Baden and the colourful city of Freiburg. Each route passes by lush vineyards and little towns with half-timbered houses. Historic Strasbourg is over the border with France to the north, while Basel to the south is a lesser-known Swiss gem.

Big, nice and typical amusement park plus water park town. Close to the Rhine for nature hiking/biking. 4 days was more than enough for a family with 2 teens to fully enjoy both parks (12 and 14)

Feels to us like rust is a toy town to supply europa park. It does this very well. It's beautiful clean. Locals are generally fabulous with speaking English. Pretty and comfortable visit. Local lidl is v handy. Food prices at europa much better than Merlin parks.
Recommend eating at Casa Rustica if u don't kind waiting 45 to 60 mins for your food. We found the pain worth it. Awesome pizzas.
We always take a car. We've done day trips to other parks and black forest. The area is great to great around lots to see and do. A must for nature fans.

Rust is nice when you want to go to Europa Park.
Rust is nice when you want to go to Europa Park. Other friends of mine prefer Ringsheim because it’s cheaper, but i walk to Europa Park, eat fruhstuck at the bakery, and i can drink beer or wine without having to drive my car, because it is at the pension. Also saves you 10 - 15 euro per day!

Of course, Europa Park is the main draw to Rust, with amazing attractions, shows and food but there is a lot more in the town of rust, with lots of lovely restaurants and bars, as well as an abundance of options to stay to suit any budget.
There is good transport around the town with the 'Rust-Bus' running around the town, but from the "Europa Park Hotel" end of the town, to the park entrance is a 20 minute walk, so nothing too strenuous.

As a special birthday treat, I arranged a short break for my husband & I to Rust. The main purpose was to visit Europa Park & Rulantica. We spent 2 days at the theme park, 1 evening in the water park. It was gorgeous. So well laid out, clean & accessible. The hotel we stayed at was almost equidistant between the 2 venues, with a couple of shops & restaurants close by. Excellent location, stunning hotel. All the staff were very friendly & polite. Fully intend to return soon

Rust is a lovely village with it's main attraction being...
Rust is a lovely village with it's main attraction being Europa Park. However the village itself is very quiet, well kept and well serviced with restaurants and supermarkets. It's 15min from Ringsheim train station and has 2 buses to catch from there, both reasonably priced. It's lovely to stay in even if you don't visit the theme park.

Fantastic host with great communication and clear check in/key collection instructions provided. Location of apartment was excellent, 15 minutes walk to Europa Park/Rulantica, close to Lidl, other cafes, restaurants and hotels nearby. Apartment was clean and comfortable with all of the facilities needed for our family of 4, including kettle, coffee machine, fridge, ironing board, hairdryer. Beds were comfortable and apartment was warm and cosy, small but perfect for what we needed. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again

The hotel was in a perfect location for Europa Park. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable but a little dated. However it’s possibly the loudest place I have ever stayed. The walls are thin and the corridors all marble. You can hear absolutely everything. People chatting in hallways, other peoples TV’s conversations in the next room. It was extremely exhausting after a long day in a theme park. Take ear plugs.

The appartement is huge, all rooms are big, including bathroom and kitchen. Very nice big balcony. All is very clean and has everything one needs, even coffee and tea.
It is situated 5 minutes by foot from the Europa park hotels, so you can reach the place, walk there or go for a dinner. And very easy to reach the park itself.

The apartment is compact but beautiful and all of the facilities were modern and clean.
The location was perfect for Rulantica or Europa Park and much cheaper than the resort hotels.
You can park right outside and there is plenty of space to unpack your things.
Lots of mirrors and good clean towels.
