It was very quiet when we arrived so we had to preorder breakfast, it was lovely as well as having a small buffet to choose from. The staff were very helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, it also had a kettle which is a bonus in Germany.

Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Pool and Sauna were great. Breakfast and dinner had everything on offer that one could wish for. We got around by public transport which doesn't operate super often but if you plan ahead it is easy.

Very comfortable hotel especially after a long hike. I was particularly impressed by the number of electrical plug sockets in the room and how convenient they were for working at the desk in the room. The chair in the room was the best of any hotel I have visited. It was perfect for working at the desk and comfortable for sitting back to read.

Absolute satisfaction! Garden Depandance Am Bach is a beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by nature. Lovely views, clean and cozy rooms, everything well-kept and comfortable. This is an old DDR sports hotel. It's not the most plush or luxurious, but it's great. It has an almost unique charm. Its a little remote and there did not seem to be any restaurants or bars within walking distance but the hotel had everything that we needed.There was plenty of parking, our motorbikes had spaces right outside the entrance. And there is ample parking for cars. It has a nice little bar with cold beer at reasonable prices and a terrace as well as a beer garden. Although we hadn't booked and evening meal in advance the staff (all of whom were terrific) managed to squeeze us in. The meal itself was good enough although there was very little variety. Breakfast the next morning was very good. At first glance the hotel looks a little tired as the facade is falling apart but the bed was comfortable and the en-suite had a bath! Which was great. Don't expect luxury as this place was designed for sportsmen/women 50 years ago. - It has a ski museum and a bobslegh in one of the corridors! - But for us it was fine. And the price was fantastic value..During the evening they also had a very good band playing music to ourselves and half a dozen elderly German couples. One oddity was that outside the main entrance, and in the reception area were a number of pens containing live rabbits. I,ve no idea why but it added to the slightly odd feel to the place. If you want to stay somewhere that will give you good memories rather than a bland impersonal hotel this is the place for you. I thought it was great.
