I would not hesitate to book this accomodation. The top level is all yours. It is spacious, and comfy with a nice living area, TV, kitchen and bathroom. We were a couple but if you were traveling with kids or friends the second bedroom makes this a great value proposition. I don't often recommend cooking as lot of kitchens are so basic, but if you did feel like eating in the kitchen here is actually very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. But there is also plenty of great eating in Schiltach and the surrounds. Ute was a very proactive host and made arrival and departure so easy (Even though we got caught up hiking). She is also a incredibly sweet and friendly person. Greeting us with a hug and some lovely home made jam. She also hosts some walking tours and gave us some great advice about nearby walks and eateries.

My friend hit his head 5 times in total going to the bathroom and kitchen, 10/10 would recommend this place. The amount of space is amazing and also the quirks of the building itself is really interesting. There is a lot of information available in the building about the area and you are given a Guest card for using the public transport in the area.

A spacious two bedroom apartment with a well stocked kitchen...

A spacious two bedroom apartment with a well stocked kitchen and a private balcony. Our host was quick to answer questions and provided us with a great experience. The location of the apartment did not allow us to park directly in front, but there was plenty of free parking less than 200 meters away. Because of the small street, there was almost no traffic so our stay was peaceful. We were surrounded by beautiful Fachwerkhäuser (half-timbered houses) and it felt like we went back in time while still enjoying the modern conveniences of a great kitchen and bathroom. All the furniture and accessories seemed to have been selected with great care to provide both comfort and nostalgia. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries just a short walk from the apartment as well as the small river for recreation and relaxation.

Nice restaurant options, quaint and welcoming town. Restaurant Jose was fantastic atmosphere and cuisine (tapas). The town is steep, so be prepared with your footwear. Very walkable to trails, and a few museums in town. We visited in very cold weather but had the town to ourselves.

We were a bit puzzled by this place.

We were a bit puzzled by this place. The town is extremely picturesque with beautiful houses and little laneways. It seems the perfect location for cafes and little craft or artshops, but there’s nothing there of that kind and the town felt a bit lifeless to be honest.

A beautiful building in the centre of a beautiful town. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. There was an excellent breakfast. The hostess was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. It was a pleasure to stay there for two nights and we look forward to staying again. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Lots of space, a full kitchen, access to a laundry, and a great location in a quiet residential area within easy walking distance of the centre of Schiltach, which is a delightful town in the centre of the Black Forest. Very helpful hosts who are fluent in English.

The building, situated along the river of the charming city of Schiltach, has an "old guesthouse" vibe, but is clean and cosy. The owner was very kind and helpful, even though we booked last minute and stayed only one night!
