Everything was perfect. The reception was warm and friendly when we arrived, we had complete information for everything (sauna services, breakfast, dinner etc). The rooms were beautifully medieval style, so fitting with the whole ambience. The whole hotel kept in line with its Schloss (castle) experience. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise - the table was fully set for our family. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious and staff were attentive and polite at all times (we were happy to pay for it!). The sauna and steam room and lounge areas to wash and relax were clean and comfortable, and the gym area had oranges and water for us too. Plenty of hiking possibilities for normal and Nordic Walking around the hotel if you don't want to stay in. I was a little curious as to what we were going to do for a winter weekend, but am pleasantly surprised that we didn't have enough time to do more! Absolutely no complaints. Definitely coming back.

I felt like an honored guest at this hotel situated near the Franziskaner Kloster which was our main reason for going to the Thuringia/Hesse area. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with a very well appointed large room with a comfortable bed, fresh sheets and towels, clean and spacious shower room and study/writing area, and an in-house restaurant that serves really good food and wine. The breakfast buffet was superb, with Tamara taking care that guests are happy with their meals. The Zum Schwan Hotel building was built in 1690. It is near a bus stop and a grocery store which is very convenient. The area is quiet and tres jolie!

Hotel Villa Ponte Wisera is located in Eschwege on the picturesque Werra Bridge. Free Wi-Fi access is available all over the property.

So pleased to have discovered this gem of a hotel in a tucked-away part of Germany. Our room was huge, beautifully proportioned and spotlessly clean, with a large and very comfortable bed and a neat en-suite shower room. The wifi in the room was excellent, stable enough for a two-hour video conference without as much as a blip. Free parking conveniently at the back of the property; sumptuous breakfast; and Mrs Langosch couldn’t have been more helpful and hospitable (and in excellent English, too). We will be back!

Everything, hotel, host and food amazing. Unfortunately, when we arrived on Monday the owner said that the restaurant is closed on Mondays but she went out if her way to serve us a salad and a pasta dish that was out of this world, nothing was too much trouble. We are travelling again at Easter and will definitely stay there again
