"We went to Wiesbaden to see some Wagner operas. We loved the opera house, an unusually intimate space, and the music was spectacularly good. The town itself has some great shops and a lovely pedestrian precinct. We found some great places to eat as well. It’s a pretty town with splendid churches and beautiful facades on the buildings. A lovely park near the centre was a good place for a pleasant walk. I would definitely recommend Wiesbaden."

"Fulda is a nice and neat little city. You can stroll around and see something intersting everywhere, if you like churches here you go, a stroll in the green voilá. Small old town building, no trouble. And everything is combined with wine, hair&wine, books&wine, well if you like wine, you can get good wines for decent pricing at everycorner. In a warm summers night sit down at one of the lovely small restaurants and listen to the street musicians."

"Very great stay. Very helpful staff. Location very great right next to the bust stop and a few minutes ride to airport by bus (only 3 euros). The staff was super helpful and gave great recommendations. Maybe if checking late like I did, alert the staff earlier so they can support you well. They still supported me when I arrived, but a heads-up to them would have made things much easier. Overall very great stay."

I focused mostly on vegan food due to my companion and there was plenty of choice. Everything was in walking distance, and there were some quite lovely museums to visit!"

A beautiful room with a nice deep bathtub! We were there for the Christmas market, and didn't realize it was closed that day. Michelstadt is a beautiful city and we were in a great location for thr Christmas market if it had been open. The bed was super comfy. The breakfast was absolutely incredible !!! Lots of stairs to be aware of.

We didn't realize this is one of the Relais & Châteaux hotels before we arrive, and we're totally satisfied after arrival. Pretty nice holiday getaway hotel with good location, view, facility and friendly staff. There is a gift riesling in the room(yes of course, this is Geisenheim, riesling is the reason that brought us here), and it is a pretty tasty one. The hotel has a fine restaurant attached to it, but we didn't have a chance to try due to reservation issues.

Quiet and serene. The rooms were clean and well stocked -although a private coffee pot would have been nice. The towel warmer was wonderful. The views were incredible. The staff were all professional, helpful and friendly. A mid January visit means most of the neighboring towns were resting after the Christmas bustle. It took some searching to find shops that were open. We had a wonderful 3 night stay and would definitely recommend it.

Very disappointing stay.

Very disappointing stay. The hotel was not clean and had a very unpleasant smell. Guests were smoking cigarettes in the corridors, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and unpleasant. The corridors were poorly maintained. The breakfast was very disappointing and the quality was not good. The reception staff were also not welcoming or friendly, and we did not feel well received at all. Overall, the experience was far below our expectations. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.

I used to spend a lot of time in Kassel in my college years...

I used to spend a lot of time in Kassel in my college years and wanted to take my family there. Sadly, we saw a lot of homelessness and graffiti in the city. I wanted to return to Martin Lutherplatz and it was filled with homeless individuals around the gravesites and the church was not accessible. We felt unsafe in the city - not sure if staying in Wilhelmshöhe would have been better, but we would have been closer to the Bergpark there. Restaurants were good and Eckstein was our favorite discovery after spending time at the Grimmwelt. The history of Kassel and the beauty of the city were hard to appreciate when you don’t feel safe.

A truly lovely small town, I am sorry I didn't have more time in it. Excellent older town area with lovely cafes, restaurants, and shops. It even had a record shop, but I didn't have time for it. Definitely one of the loveliest German small towns I have been to. I would be happy to visit it again and take a longer time for it.

It is more touristic than I thought, a bit overcrowded for my taste. One reason to not take the cable car up the mountain. If you like crowds and lots of restaurants you're at the right place. We had a good meal in Willingen. We went to the hang bridge (Sky walk) nearby, we visited the Dimeltalsperre and we went shopping in Winterberg.

Walking and taking in all the sights of the side streets...

Walking and taking in all the sights of the side streets here is wonderful. I enjoy the simple shopping and every spot has thier own wines to try, which is excellent. We went up to the Niederwald Monument, which is impressive to say the least

A very Good, quiet, classy and beautiful town. Its not like a metropolitan city, life here is very simple, quiet and pleasant. If you want to have a break from your busy schedule, please do visit this town.

Very small and quiet place. Worth to see it.

Very small and quiet place. Worth to see it. There are some restaurants and coffee bars. The South Park is also there. In Edeka Supermarket you can find different food, and other things that you may need.

We really enjoyed our visit and were positively surprised to...

We really enjoyed our visit and were positively surprised to learn about the history of the town. Tip no. 1 - the Elisabeth Cafe close to the Elisabeth Church is fabulous. Tip no. 2 - if you were hoping to see St Elisabeth's shrine in the church ask to purchase a ticket at the entrance because it isn't immediately apparent where it is (there are ongoing restorations) - truly beautiful. There are short services (15 minutes) during the week at lunchtime - also lovely if you like that kind of thing.

This was an overnight stop en route to Rotterdam.

This was an overnight stop en route to Rotterdam. It was wet and cold! and we arrived in the dark, so viewing the area was not an option. Check in was at the restaurant, straightforward and welcoming. Rooms next door in the guest house. They are excellent, very comfortable spotlessly clean. Beds perfect. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Christmas time so the place was quite full. However service was great. Thoroughly recommend this place.

We only came for a football match.

We only came for a football match. What an incredible and welcoming city/Town. Our team was Portsmouth and almost 1 thousand fans turned up to enjoy Darmstadt before and after the match. The bars and restaurants are amazing, the beer is very good and we had such a blast. We need to come back and explore more.
