It's a lovely little town near Frankfurt.
It's a lovely little town near Frankfurt. Lovely inner city, although it gets more like Frankfurt the further northwest you get in the inner city. I focused mostly on vegan food due to my companion and there was plenty of choice. Everything was in walking distance, and there were some quite lovely museums to visit!

If you do not speak German, Gießen is not probably the best...
If you do not speak German, Gießen is not probably the best option. You might have several limits in comunication, starting with the trains to reach it. It is a town, with a few historical buildings (the war destroyed everything) and lots of waste around, with bad smells. I appreciated the University buildings (they are spread around the city), the parks, the botanical garden. Please try the cinnamon-butter bread and the poppy seed cake of the Brot atelier!

Though it was my first time for me, we were in Gießen for a yearly festival. We did some driving around in Gießen. The city is very attractive with beautiful shops, clean streets and very friendly people. Gießen is small but very neat and easy to get around city.

nice hotel quality materials. good beds, everything looked very good in the hotel, the staff , met only 3 persons, evening of arrival just one, at breakfast there were 2 one for check out and one serving breakfast
