Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact.
Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.

Large level ground floor apartment with lounge/diner and small outdoor balcony. We were a couple, but the main bedroom contained 2 king size beds. There is a second bedroom and sofa beds in the lounge.Everything was clean and tidy.
Location is about 10 minute walk from an attractive traffic free town centre. With a car, the centre parking is expensive.
Straubing is a convenient centre for access to the glass making industry, Regensburg and Passau etc.

It was an emergency solution as other place was empty so I could not check in. Here the automatic soltion was perfect, quick and easy get in (I booked around 11PM via booking app and was able to get when arrived there). Room, bed linen, bath were clean. Comfortable stay and close enought to the Motorway. No breakwast in the Hotel, but coffe machine is free, and also in the morning bakery product available at the reception area (also free)

I received a delightful welcome at this excellent town-centre hotel. The accommodation was very good as was the breakfast. To me, its location in the pedestrian precinct at the very centre of Straubing was a bonus and from the entrance to the main street was literally a few steps. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant which can be highly recommended.
I shall be very pleased to return to Hotel Seethaler in the future.

The only thing I could tolerate about this hotel was the manager. At least he acknowledged that his colleagues were extremely rude and racist, and he apologized to me for their behavior. However, unless the inappropriate behavior of the staff is properly addressed, his commendable character alone will not be sufficient to maintain the integrity and standards expected of a reputable hotel.
